Volunteers at Auburn, Alabama's Restoration Church pray Sunday afternoon over sets of walls that will be used this fall to build the 18th new Fuller Center home in Lee County, Alabama, as part of the tornado recovery effort there.
A faith-building experience like no other
The 2019 Millard Fuller Legacy Build (Sept. 29-Oct. 4) is shaping up to be our biggest yet with hundreds of volunteers building 11 new Fuller Center homes in tornado-ravaged Beauregard, Alabama. Still, we could use a few more volunteers, including those who wish to help in non-construction areas, such as delivering water to job sites or helping walk-up volunteers get registered. Each volunteer's role is integral to this blitz build's success. With six Fuller Center homes already completed, hope is reborn in Beauregard, and this build will cement that hope forever. When you lift up these families in need, you serve as the hands and feet of God in their community and change lives forever — including your own!

Sixth Fuller Center home dedicated in Beauregard

Misty Baker and her daughters were living in a mobile home when the March 3 tornado struck. They stayed in the heavily damaged home for months afterward. On Sept. 3, though, exactly six months after the tornado, the family walked through the door of the their newly dedicated Fuller Center home and immediately broke into tears of joy before embracing each other.

Emily Build a tale of two lives — one cut short and one restored

A new Fuller Center house in Louisiana honors the memory of Emily Perdue, who was killed along with two good friends in a 2006 SUV crash. Churches and others have banded together to build a Fuller Center home in Emily's memory. For homeowner Melanie Moss, it puts a finishing touch on her redemption story. Be sure to have a tissue handy before watching KSLA's report.
Leave a long-lasting legacy

Phil Davidson is passionate about making sure children have simple, decent homes in which to grow and be nurtured. That's why he volunteers with Fuller Center Global Builders and why he has set up a trust to leave his entire estate to The Fuller Center when he leaves this Earth. There are multiple Planned Giving options that ensure you can leave a lasting legacy that changes lives for many years to come.

Disaster ReBuilders update

Our team's service area in North Carolina was spared the brunt of Hurricane Dorian, so they joined forces with Convoy of Hope, C-Stone Church and Seventh Day Adventists to go help residents of Ocracoke Island, which suffered some major flooding. At right, the team prays before heading to Ocracoke this past Sunday. Consider working with our Disaster ReBuilders in Florida, North Carolina or Texas.
Flashback video: Former President Jimmy Carter talks about
how Millard Fuller set the example for putting faith into action

A decade ago, former President Jimmy Carter helped us kick off the first-ever Millard Fuller Legacy Build in Lanett, Alabama. The former president — and perhaps the most famous volunteer in the affordable housing movement — will celebrate his 95th birthday Oct. 1.
