Service League of Manitowoc County presents the 36th Annual Holiday on the Lakeshore, November 9th and 10th, at the beautiful Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance - Silver Lake College of the Holy Family. All monies raised stay in our community as scholarships and community donations. With over 30 retailers and artists under one roof, there is something for everyone. Start your holiday shopping at this long running event. Admission is $4.00 or $3.00 with a non-perishable food item.

United Way Manitowoc County (UWMC) has kicked off their 2018 Campaign! Companies of all sizes and interests can get involved in the Workplace Campaign to join the fight for health, education and financial stability of every person in our community. Lakeshore Humane Society (LHS): Shaggy Shuffle 5K Run/ 2 Mile Walk to benefit animals of LHS is this Friday, October 19th, at 7:00pm. The race headquarters will be LHS. The course will run along Manitowoc city streets and partially through and around Lincoln Park. All runners and walkers are welcome to attend! Bib chip timing. Overall and age group awards. InCourage Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center has been selected to participate in Allstate's annual Purple Purse Challenge! This is a friendly competition among DVC's to see who can raise the most money in one month! Let's make this a community effort and help raise great money to fight domestic violence! This year, the Purple Purse was designed by tennis great Serena Williams. The purse is meant to signify financial independence for the women who are victims of domestic violence.
The Haven of Manitowoc County is looking for a Shelter Monitor Helper. Their role would be to assist the shelter monitor with chores. Cover the office phones while the monitor does their duties. They would also help with food prep, making a meal for the guests either at your home or at the Haven. They would also help with our major fundraisers. The Salvation Army, Manitowoc: Today, was the final sign up day for Coats for Kids and Christmas Toy Shop. Come to 415 N. 6th St. with a photo ID, proof of income, proof of address (for everyone who lives in the home). A current Food Share document is adequate if it has all the current info on it. October 20th is the Boy Scout food drive. We receive a portion of the proceeds from that drive. Thank you for your generosity!

Friends of the Two Rivers Senior Center: Two Rivers Senior Center Health & Information Fair. Join us on Thursday, October 18th, from 8:00-11:45am for our Health Fair with over 40 vendor booths, educational presentations, continental breakfast, and door prizes. Health screenings include glucose readings, blood pressure readings, and a light massage. Flu Vaccinations will be available from 8:00-11:30am (please bring insurance/medical card) and Skin Cancer Screenings from 9:15-10:45am, will also be offered on a first come basis, sign ups starting at 8:00am at the J.E. Silver Lake College of the Holy Family is please to present a special performance of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra (MSO) at 7:00pm on October 25th. The MSO will perform in Bob & Pat Endries Performance Hall inside the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance on campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road. Tickets for the performance are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors (ages 65 and older) and $15 for students. Rahr West Art Museum: Hop on your broomstick and fly on over to the Rahr West Art Museum, Wednesday, October 24th, from 5:30-7:00pm. It's time for Halloween in the Mansion. Join staff and volunteers for a family-friendly evening of costumes, stories, pumpkin painting, Halloween crafts and trick-or-treating in the mansion. It'll be a scary good time. Boo! Lakeshore Technical College (LTC): Women of high school age and older are invited to get a close-up look at high-paying careers in information technology at Women Power -IT Coders. River's Bend Health Services will recognize Make A Difference Day with a Community Home Medical Equipment Drive from 11:00am-1:00pm, October 27th. Donations of wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches, dressings, dialysis supplies, hospital beds, slings, braces and other non-electrical medical equipment will be accepted. University Theatre at University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus will perform the rock musical theatre experience, The Rocky Horror Show. In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite scientist. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named "Rocky". "A socko wacko weirdo rock concert." -WNBC TV.
