Holy Family Memorial will be offering a Chamber Clinic benefit for members of The Chamber of Manitowoc County and the Sheboygan County Chamber beginning in 2019. Services include: wellness coaching, physical therapy, emotional health counseling and primary, urgent and preventative care. Chamber members can enroll for free by November 15th to offer this benefit to their employees and employees' families. Each enrollment has an annual fee of $99 and a $10 access fee per visit. energybank is a host site in the Wisconsin Solar Tour, organized by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA). Saturday, October 6th, 10:00am-4:00pm., energybank will showcase FUSION direct solar-powered LED. The solar tour will afford participants a direct perspective of FUSION, how it performs and how it helps facilities improve overall operations and reduce energy usage. The tour is free and open to the public. Governor Walker remarked, "To be environmentally sustainable, you've got to be economically sustainable, and FUSION does both."
Friends of the Two Rivers Senior Center: An Introduction to Medigap & Prescription Drug Help Lines presentation will be held on October 10th starting at 11:00am. A representative from the Wisconsin State Board on Aging & Long Term Care will be presenting. University of Wisconsin Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus with the Lakeshore Water Institute presents - 2018 Lakeshore Water Summit Emerging Trends in Manitowoc Stream Quality, Wednesday, October 10th. Manufacturing Rocks Tour: This Friday, October 5th, is when manufacturers around the county open their doors to show community members that manufacturing careers are alive and well. Here's your opportunity to tour some of Manitowoc County's manufacturing facilities to learn about the company itself and learn about potential jobs. All tours will be 60 minutes in duration and be limited to 20 people per tour. The event is open to the public and will include special invitations to our local business leaders, school administrators, counselors, teachers and students. Following are time slots for each tour and the type of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required. Safety glasses and ear plugs will be available at each facility. The Haven of Manitowoc County: 2nd Annual Cardboard City Event, Saturday, October 13th, from 4:00pm to Sunday, October 14th at 8:00am. The Haven parking lot 1003 Marshall St., Manitowoc. Miss Harbor Cities Organization, Inc.: Our sister program, Miss Green Bay Area Scholarship Program, is looking for entrants for the 2019 Miss & Teen programs open to young women ages 13-25 in the counties of Brown, Calumet, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Oconto, Outagamie and Shawno. The Rahr-West Art Musuem: The Water's Edge Artists' (WEA) annual art exhibit, "The Art of Preservation" will be held at the Rahr-West Art Museum, 610 N. 8th St., Manitowoc, now through October 28th. Water's Edge Artists' care about the conservation of land, waters, and historical sites in Wisconsin. Opening reception for the show is scheduled for Friday, October 5th, from 5:00-7:00pm, with an Awards Ceremony at 6:00pm. This year's show judge, artist and teacher Ron Stokes, will be present to comment on the winning paintings. WEA artists paint in a variety of mediums, including oils, watercolors, pastels and graphite. All works are original. Lakeshore Humane Society (LHS): Shaggy Shuffle 5K Run/2 Mile Walk to benefit animals of the Lakeshore Humane Society is Friday, October 19th, at 7:00pm. The race headquarters will be LHS. The course will run along Manitowoc City streets and partially through and around Lincoln Park. All runners and walkers are welcome to attend! Bib chip timing, overall and age group awards.
