Welcome Back Lunch There was much excitement in the UCC college lounge on Sunday on the eve of a new semester! Around 30 Horned Frogs, several of them first year students, gathered for a UCC welcome and a delicious meal. They will be welcomed back each Wednesday for "Lunch Bunch" from 11:30-1:30. On Sunday afternoons, UCC College Ministry will partner with Disciples on Campus for a meditative worship experience called "Centered" at Robert Carr Chapel. Here's to a great year of ministry for our college students.

"Academy 4 let me connect with two vastly different but equally incredible 4th graders. By connecting with them and being a buddy to them I feel like I was able to make a difference on their lives that they will carry with them through the rest of their education." --UCC member Andrew Darr is a TCU student who first mentored with Academy 4 as a student at Paschal High School.

We need you! We know that the needs of students and families at Alice Contreras Elementary are great this year. We also know that the presence of just one positive adult relationship in the life of a child buildings resilience and grit and provides them with the relational capital they need to overcome trauma they may have experienced during the hardest parts of the pandemic. You can building a meaningful relationship with a 4th grade student in just 90 minutes, one Friday afternoon a month, starting in October. Oh Lord, when the earth shakes and walls fall down--you are refuge and strength. Be near to the brokenhearted, and those who have lost home and family.  When human leaders commit violence against people of goodwill-- you are mercy and justice. Be near to the persecuted, and give shelter to those who seek sanctuary.  ​​The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit. Holy one, when suffering is too deep for words, you hear the silent prayers of pain, loss, and grief. Be near to those who mourn.  When all seems to be lost, fallen, or broken, you restore life again.
