Dear CFCE Families,
Well, under normal circumstances this would have been the spring school vacation break, but by now your probably thinking: WHEN WILL THIS END? CFCE staff are with you on that. We are so anxious to get back to what we love to do. In the meantime we are trying to do our best in keeping the lines of communication open. We hope you have found some time to take care of yourself during these days. Whether it's reading a book you've been putting off, taking an on-line course, or just listening to some relaxing music. It's times like these that we often forget to take care of ourselves. We appreciate all the feedback and idea's you have been sharing. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME! So, hang in there. This too shall pass!
As Always: Staff are available through email if there is something you need help with or wish to share.

Check out this Fine Motor Activity!:
Wow! What a great activity for the little ones to learn Fine Motor Skills. Most of us have a colander around the house and pipe cleaners are pretty easy and inexpensive to get. You can use 1 specific color or try multiple colors.

Make a Fluffy Bin!
Materials:
- Stuffed animals
- Kiddie pool
As you collect the stuffed toys, notice the different textures each has and the different feel of their fur. Even though they are all soft and cuddly, each has different fur, different lengths, different fabrics, etc. This is great for baby's hands and for him/her to explore different textures. Great sensory activity!

Simon Says:
Sim
on says is a great activity to keep kids busy and active indoors. Whether you are encouraging kids to play a game of Simon Says in a classroom setting, or just at home, it’s usually a big hit with lots of giggles and laughter. Sometimes it can be hard to think of creative Simon Says actions on the spot, so we created a list of over 50 Simon Says action ideas you can print off.

Number Concept Activities:
Counting helps children learn number sequence—but they need to develop a basic understanding of numbers first. Three important number concepts are one-to-one correspondence (each object is counted only once); cardinality (the last object counted is the total number of objects); and invariance (the number of objects doesn't change if they are configured differently—for instance, spread out or placed in a circle). Here are math activities for
preschoolers
to help develop these concepts.

Shadow Science!
AFTER SCHOOL STEM CHALLENGE – SHADOW TOWERS
Learning after school is not something most school age kids want to do. What they don’t know is whether they are at soccer practice, climbing a tree, baking muffins, or recounting their day to their parents they are always learning. Still, as parents, we want to engage their minds more intentionally from time to time, that is where after school challenges come in. This challenge is short intentionally; it’s meant to spark learning and curiosity not teach a long drawn out lesson, which is why it’s perfect for school age kids!

Would You Rather?
Looks like social distancing is taking it's toll. One way we can relieve that stress is by piling the kids in the car and playing a game called, "Would You Rather". This is a fun game and a great way to find out more about your kids. The great thing is: YOU get to make up the questions. OR click the link below to get some help on some great questions to ask you kids.

What a GREAT BOOK! Who doesn't remember this old favorite? Kids love to sing, so why not have them learn their numbers as they sing!

Don't Like to Cook? No Problem!
|
This no bake, no cook recipe will have all your friends wondering, where did she get those cute little hamburgers? This is a recipe the kids will love to participate in. No one can eat just one!
