Good Afternoon St.Gabriel Families,
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee recognizes April 24th - April 30th as Safe Environment Awareness Week. Each year in the month of April, which is recognized around the country as child abuse prevention month, we dedicate a week to elevating the general awareness of the Church’s efforts to keep our children safe. We want people to know that we are committed to maintaining safe environments in our parishes and schools through adult child abuse prevention training: criminal background checks for all clergy, volunteers working with minors, and employees; safety training for children in each grade level; and adhering to all mandatory reporting requirement laws.
This year at St. Gabriel Parish School, to show our support for Safety Awareness Week, we are wearing the color blue today Thursday, April 28th. Wearing blue helps remind us and encourages others to help keep children safe and support healthy choices. Staff Update:
We are in the process of interviewing teachers for the 2022-2023 school year to fill the current openings. We have had a number of very qualified candidates and are about to begin phase two of the process.
Some of our current staff members have expressed interest in possibly switching grade levels. With the new curriculum being implemented next year this would be the perfect time for them to make that move. We will announce new hires and assignment changes as soon as that information has been finalized.
$crip Certificates:
$crip certificates are the perfect gift ideas for Mother's Day, Graduations, Confirmation, and all the special upcoming celebrations. $crip is available in the School Office Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., after the weekend Masses, or online.
