Good Afternoon St.Gabriel Families,

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee recognizes April 24th - April 30th as Safe Environment Awareness Week. Each year in the month of April, which is recognized around the country as child abuse prevention month, we dedicate a week to elevating the general awareness of the Church’s efforts to keep our children safe. We want people to know that we are committed to maintaining safe environments in our parishes and schools through adult child abuse prevention training: criminal background checks for all clergy, volunteers working with minors, and employees; safety training for children in each grade level; and adhering to all mandatory reporting requirement laws.

This year at St. Gabriel Parish School, to show our support for Safety Awareness Week, we are wearing the color blue today Thursday, April 28th. Wearing blue helps remind us and encourages others to help keep children safe and support healthy choices. Please CLICK here to download an informative flyer with tips about keeping your students safe while using the internet.

Staff Update:

We are in the process of interviewing teachers for the 2022-2023 school year to fill the current openings. We have had a number of very qualified candidates and are about to begin phase two of the process.  

Some of our current staff members have expressed interest in possibly switching grade levels. With the new curriculum being implemented next year this would be the perfect time for them to make that move. We will announce new hires and assignment changes as soon as that information has been finalized.

$crip Certificates:

$crip certificates are the perfect gift ideas for Mother's Day, Graduations, Confirmation, and all the special upcoming celebrations. $crip is available in the School Office Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., after the weekend Masses, or online. If interested in learning more about buying certificates using the Shop with Scrip app, please contact Laura Rogacki in the Parish Office (262-628-1141).

Flower Sale:

Spring has sprung and it's time for the 7^th annual Spring Flower Power Sale!   We are thankful to Shady Lane Greenhouses, Inc. for partnering with us again this season.  This year we will, once again, offer coupons (in $10 increments) so you can choose the exact flowers and plants you’d like.  Our goal is to reach at least $5,000 in sales!  Proceeds to support professional development related to new teacher resources at St Gabriel!  Click the image for more info.

You can purchase and obtain the coupons in two easy ways: 

• Coupons will be sold after Mass on April 30 & May 1; May 14 & 15; May 21 & 22   
• You can send your coupon request form and payment to the parish or school office and we will backpack mail or US Mail the coupons to you.

Night at the Museum:

Our 6th-grade class did a great job on their Egyptian Museum Exhibits and Reports for Geography Class! Check out some of their work.  More pictures will be posted on the Parent's Facebook Page.

Please remember that ASLP is a pay-in-advance program. You may make payments online or by check payable to St. Gabriel.

Rice Bowl Collection—Last Call!:

To date, we have collected $2,430 for the Catholic Relief Services. 75% of this collection ($1,822) will be sent to Catholic Relief Services. The remaining 25% of this collection ($608) will stay local to fight hunger at our St. Boniface-St. Gabriel Food Pantry. Please return your Rice Bowl offering to the St. Gabriel Gathering Space in the basket provided. To donate by check, please make a check payable to St. Gabriel and write ”Rice Bowl” in the memo line. These checks may be placed in the weekend collection basket at Mass or brought to our church and school offices.

We are very excited to announce that we are hosting a co-ed Volleyball Camp here at St. Gabriel! Dates are Monday - Thursday, June 13 - 16, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm daily. This camp is open to girls and boys who will be in grades 4 - 8 for the 2022-23 school year.  The cost to attend the four-day camp is $20. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt.

Interested in registering your child? Registration is available via this link St Gabriel Boys & Girls Summer Volleyball Camp Registration (google.com) and is limited to 32 attendees.

In addition to completing the registration form, campers must complete the student athletics forms below. Students will not be able to participate in the camp unless these forms are submitted. Completed forms may be submitted to the school office.
