From the desk of Mrs. Lestina

Good Afternoon St.Gabriel Families,

I hope that you all enjoyed the long weekend and enjoying the beautiful weather today. Our teachers were at school for some professional development and collaboration time on Thursday. Friday, we were all in Milwaukee for the Catholic Educators Convention at the Wisconsin Center. It was nice to have some time to meet with each other and learn new things.

On Wednesday, October 6th, we gathered in the Parish Hall after Mass for a beautiful Dedication Ceremony. A large crucifix was purchased for our parish, by Dan and Larry Stein. It was dedicated to Mrs. Betty Miller who is grandmother to Ashlyn and Addison Brooks, great aunt to Elizabeth and Natalyn Layman, a longtime volunteer, alumni, and parishioner, and Blessed by Fr. Tim. Mrs. Miller is retaining this year from working for the Steins for 50 years.

They were so impressed with her work ethic, loyalty, and dedication to their company and St. Gabriel that they wanted to do something for us, in her honor. This beautiful crucifix will hang in our Parish Hall for years to come.

We are very grateful to the Steins and Mrs. Betty Miller for remembering St. Gabriel and leaving us with such an incredible symbol of our Catholic faith.

Our fall conferences are quickly approaching (October 28th & 29th). Please make sure that you have checked your child’s homeroom newsletter/emails for the link to conference sign-ups. We look forward to meeting with you and discussing your child’s progress.

COVID Update:

Today we needed to quarantine a number of our students who were considered close contacts with someone in their scout group who tested positive.  None of our students tested positive.   We are following the health department guidelines for close contacts.  We pray for continued health for all of our students and their families.

We have updated our COVID protocol to include guidelines from the Health Department on what to do if your child is showing symptoms, was in close contact with someone who tested positive, or tests positive themselves, and needs to quarantine. Please read them carefully and be very diligent in monitoring and reporting symptoms/test results. We are doing our best to keep everyone safe but we cannot do it alone.

This is a group effort!!
