Good Afternoon St.Gabriel Families,
We have officially entered Fall. The weather is unpredictable. It can be cold in the mornings and much warmer in the afternoon or the other way around. Please make sure that your child is ready for the weather. Shorts and a short-sleeve shirt may not always be warm enough for lunch recess.
** Reminder: Appropriate length dress shorts may be worn up to Friday, October 15th. Shorts should not be worn after October 15th.
Planning has begun for our Scholastic Book Fair. We will need volunteers to help make this event a success. The Book Fair will be taking place the week of October 25th, which is the week of conferences. Mark your calendar and stay tuned for more details.
COVID Update:
A big thank you to all of our families for being extremely careful and erring on the side of caution when it comes to the health of our students. We have not had any positive cases among our students or staff since school has started. This is a group effort!! We have been able to successfully navigate this pandemic and keep our school open for our students because everyone has been so good about monitoring their children for symptoms and going in for covid testing when symptoms are present. We ask that you please continue to monitor your children carefully and keep them home if they have any of the following symptoms. Our teachers will make sure that students who are absent receive the work they have missed and are caught up with instruction when they return.
Symptoms include:
• Fever (temperature 100.4°F or higher)
• Cough
• Trouble breathing
• Chills
• Muscle/body aches
• Loss of sense of taste or smell
• Runny nose or nasal congestion
• Fatigue
• Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
Soles Walk 2021
Our Soles Walk is scheduled for Friday, October 29th this year. Come to school at 4:00 and walk the path around our campus. You can collect treats along the way and then stay for HSA’s Trunk or Treat event from 5:00-7:00. Decorate your family vehicle and see if you can win for the most creative decorations. It will be a fun night for all. Check the HSA website for more details.
Get your Soles Walk team together and start collecting donations for our school. Our goal this year is $10,000. All the money raised goes directly towards funding our school. So far we have collected $6,001.65. Keep up the great work! Please visit our website to get started if you haven’t done so already.

St. Gabriel Parish and Auction
Volunteers are needed to chair the next Parish and School Auction. We need your fresh ideas! YOU would not be alone!!! The auction has a dedicated and experienced team of committee chairs to support you. Last year we added auction staff, Dawn Jorgensen, to handle much of the administration work.
Dawn has experience chairing the auction and she is a great support to guide and assist you through the entire process! We need your good ideas, enthusiasm, leadership, and your time. This is a great community event with awesome people to meet and work with! Team up with a friend and join us!
Please prayerfully consider leading this important fundraising event! Contact, Dawn, if you would like to get involved—[email protected].

Pick-Up and Drop Off Lines:
We are still working on keeping our car line moving. Please do not get out of your car! We will help the little ones get out safely.
- Students should enter and exit on the passenger side of the vehicle. We do not want students walking between cars to get to the other side.
- If you need to help your child buckle into a car seat, please pull forward and either pull into a parking spot by the school or move into the parish parking lot before getting out of your car to buckle them in. We need to keep the line moving.
