Good Afternoon St.Gabriel Families,

We are 4 weeks into our school year and everyone is settling in nicely. Routines have been established and the learning has begun. I truly enjoy visiting the classrooms each day and seeing what each grade is learning. Sometimes I even get to join in on the lesson.

The air is beginning to get a little cooler on some days. I have been outside during recess and have heard some kids saying that they are cold. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. We will be going outside each day unless it is raining.

The Flea Market was, once again, a big success. The weather was beautiful and it was fun to see all the vendors and people who came to shop. It was a great opportunity to promote our school. We had a number of families stop by to spin our wheel of prizes. A big thank you goes out to Nikki Packee for organizing our booth this year.

COVID Update:

We have been very Blessed to have completed another week of school without any positive COVID cases among our students or staff. It is imperative that we remain diligent during this time, especially when traveling or gathering with large groups of people. We ask that you monitor your child carefully and watch for any symptoms.

Symptoms include:

• Fever (temperature 100.4°F or higher)

• Cough

• Trouble breathing

• Chills

• Muscle/body aches

• Loss of sense of taste or smell

• Runny nose or nasal congestion

• Fatigue

• Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

Thank you for your support during this pandemic. We will continue to keep the safety of our students and staff a high priority. Please help us keep everyone safe and keep your child home if they are experiencing any symptoms. We need to work together to navigate through this pandemic and keep our doors open for our children to learn in person.

Soles Walk 2021

Our Soles Walk is scheduled for Friday, October 29th this year. Come to school at 4:00 and walk the path around our campus. You can collect treats along the way and then stay for HSA’s Trunk or Treat event from 5:00-7:00. Decorate your family vehicle and see if you can win for the most creative decorations. It will be a fun night for all. Check the HSA website for more details.

Get your Soles Walk team together and start collecting donations for our school. Our goal this year is $10,000. All the money raised goes directly towards funding our school. Donations have already been coming in. With the addition of the donations collected at the Flea Market and a very generous $4,000 donation from the Polega family and their Wisconsin Real Estate Group, we are up to $5,041.65. Thank you to all of our generous donors!  Soles Walk Website

Pick-Up and Drop Off Lines:

We are still working on keeping our car line moving. Please do not get out of your car! We will help the little ones get out safely.

  • Students should enter and exit on the passenger side of the vehicle. We do not want students walking between cars to get to the other side.
  • If you need to help your child buckle into a car seat, please pull forward and either pull into a parking spot by the school or move into the parish parking lot before getting out of your car to buckle them in. We need to keep the line moving.

Spirit Wear Store:

The online spirit wear store is still open. The last day to place an order is September 20th. We have added gym shorts to the store as an option for 5th-8th graders who may need appropriate length shorts to change into for gym class.

I hope that you are enjoying this beautiful fall weather. Stay safe and healthy!

Peace and Blessings,

Kimberly Lestina

If each family could raise $56 we would easily reach our goal!!! That's asking only 3 people to donate $20 to sponsor your family to walk!

Volleyball NEWS

by Athletic Director, Jeff Poff

Our combined 7th/8th-grade girls coaches, Amy Pentek and Peggy Senglaub stated: "We wanted to pass along great news from our 1st 7/8 gr. game on Saturday, September 11 vs. Brookfield Academy; we won all 3 games! The scores were 25 - 12, 25 - 7, 15 - 11 - It was a full team effort!"

Our 5th/6th-grade girls were not as fortunate, however, the coaches, Amanda Schulteis and Kelli Harris stated: "We had our first match and we are so proud of these girls. While we lost all three games, the girls came off of the court smiling and talking about how much fun they had."

This Saturday, September 18, our 7/8th grade team will play two matches at St. Mary Menomonee Falls against Milwaukee Montessori at 12:30 pm and against St. Mary Menomonee Falls at 1:30 pm

Our 5/6th-grade girls play at St. Dominic in Brookfield at 10:30 against St. Sebastian.

Good luck girls!!!
