Association-Wide Announcements

MEMBER & STAFF OF THE MONTH

We appreciate everyone in our Y community and we want you to know!

We will be selecting a member and staff member from each branch to feature in each week of the Y Weekly!

This week we are celebrating the Adamstown Branch of our YMCA!

Congratulations Donald, MaryLou & Victoria!

MEMBER OF THE MONTH -

ADAMSTOWN

Meet Donald and MaryLou Boyer, our Adamstown YMCA Members of the Month for October. Donald and MaryLou have been coming to Adamstown YMCA for at least 9 years!

They have been married for 53 years (Congratulations!) and have always been doing some form of exercising, whether outside walking or at a gym. When they got Silver Sneakers on their insurance they decided to join the Y. At the Y, they both take advantage of the treadmills, the weight machines, and lifting weights.

In their free time, Don enjoys reading and collecting old bottles, Indian artifacts, and Civil War items. MaryLou's hobbies are reading, cooking, and crossword puzzles, and in the winter she enjoys jigsaw puzzles.

Thanks so much for bringing your kind and uplifting spirit with you every time you come to the Y, Don, and MaryLou! We are so thankful to have you as a part of the Y family.

STAFF OF THE MONTH -

ADAMSTOWN

Meet our October Staff Member of the Month, Victoria Stief! She has been an employee of the Y for almost 5 months, starting as a Summer Camp Counselor and then continuing in the fall to become a Before and After School Care Counselor and also picking up hours at the Welcome Desk when not working in Child Care.

"I love working with kids in Summer Camp and Before and After School Care. I also enjoy working at the Welcome Desk, meeting and greeting members".

In her free time, she likes hanging out with friends and family, making crafts with her Cricut, and taking her dog, Molly, on walks! She's a 2021 graduate from

Cocalico High School. Besides working at the Y, she also goes to Millersville University for Early Childhood Education.

Thanks so much for being part of our community and Adamstown YMCA, Victoria! We are so thankful to have you as part of our Y family.

While it may seem like just a few short hours, we make the time count with fun activities that not only help them learn but also build strong bonds with their fellow classmates.

You can expect your child to receive homework help, games, sports, hands-on STEAM learning, & nutritious snacks!
