Hammer Happenings
December 2021
Congratulations to our Hammer Graduates!
For the past two years we've had the opportunity to send Hammer's emerging leaders (current & newer managers) to ARRM's Leadership Institute.

Graduating this year from Hammer are Managers Chelsey Lavold, JoMarie Williams, Abdul Qayyumi and Malik Mohmaud.

To learn more about what our Hammer grads learned at the ARRM Leadership Institute, read this blog post from our Director of Workforce Development, Cate Saracen Peters.
Hammerversaries
Hammer wouldn’t be a Top 175 Workplace if it wasn’t for our amazing employees! We recently had a number of employees celebrating milestone Hammerversaries including (clockwise from top left) APM Hannah Corbet (3 years), APM Maima Parker (15 years), APM Alvina Melton (5 years), APM Edith Ndikum (5 years), and DSP Angela Miller (3 years).

Congratulations and thank you for all you do for Hammer!
Hammer's Award Winning Volunteer Director
Congratulations to Cathy Thoma, Director of Volunteer Resources at Hammer, for being selected for an honorable mention of the Exemplary Leader Impact Award for 2021 from the Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement (AL!VE).

These awards are given out to celebrate individuals who have shown exceptional leadership and knowledge in the field of volunteer engagement in the United States of America.

Congratulations Cathy!
Volunteer Update
Thank you to Wayzata High School YES students for making home made holiday cards for the individuals in our homes and apartments! Your creativity really brightened their day!

Thank you to our Cookie Baking volunteers who made dozens of cookies for Thanksgiving and the holidays. The delicious delicacies were greatly appreciated and were the most wonderful finishing touches to the holiday meals in our homes and apartments.
Thank you, as well, to those volunteers who continue to help by providing homemade dinners to our homes when they really need the assistance. Providing a meal helps staff spend more time directly with the individuals that they support.
Thank You for Making Mary’s Spirits Bright!
Mary and her housemates are grateful to have a safe, cozy and happy home. With financial support from you, we have created this special home that is wheel chair accessible, has wide hallways, modified bathrooms and comfortable shared space to help them enjoy the holidays together.

We want to be sure our homes remain nice places that the people we serve are proud to call home.

We have a full-time, four-person maintenance team to help take care of Hammer’s 47 homes and apartment programs. For projects listed on the 2022 Home Improvement List, we hire trusted contractors.

We need your financial support to keep everyone at Hammer safe and secure as they, and their homes, age.

Christmas Memories
Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! Take a look at this video to see some holiday-themed pictures of our supported individuals.
