Community Events & Announcements
The Jefferson County Highway Department will be resurfacing CTH “N” from Walton Drive to STH “106”. The work is scheduled to take place beginning the week of April 19, 2021. The existing deteriorated asphalt pavement will be pulverized, graded, and compacted prior to paving the roadway.
During construction, the roadway will be closed to through traffic, but access will be maintained to local residences and businesses, as well as emergency vehicles. A detour will be posted utilizing Business “12” (Main Street), STH “59”, CTH “D”, and STH “106”. The road will remain closed until approximately the middle of July, depending on the weather.

"Summer Shorts"

The spring musical for Whitewater High School will be presented on May 21 at 7 pm and May 22 & 23 at 2 pm at the new Cravath Lakefront Amphitheater.

Live music, singing, and dancing are what "Summer Shorts" is all about! This production has something for every member of the family,

UW-Whitewater Department of Music Large Ensembles To Perform Virtually

Gov. Evers Announces $100 Million Investment in Economic Recovery
MADISON (4/13/21) — Gov. Tony Evers today announced a $100 million investment in Wisconsin’s economic recovery as part of the state’s funds received under President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act. The investment aims to ensure businesses and communities across Wisconsin have additional support and resources to bounce back from the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement comes after the governor recently announced his plan for investing $2.5 billion in federal funding under the American Rescue Plan into the state’s economic recovery and well-being, $600 million of which will go toward supporting small business recovery across the state.

Wisconsin Tomorrow Small Business Recovery Grant program: early details of the $420MM Wisconsin Tomorrow Small Business Recovery Grant program will make $5,000 grants available to Wisconsin small businesses with less than $7 million in annual revenue. WEDC will help promote the program. It will be administered by DOR similar to the WAI Phase 2 and Phase 3 grant programs. Full program details are not yet available, pending forthcoming guidance from the Treasury Department. For now, all businesses should be directed to this DOR website for information: 
New County Recognition Program
Businesses that follow the County's Covid-19 Guidelines benefit the community in the following ways:
  • Supports a sooner return to normal post-pandemic
  • Help keep businesses open and thriving.
  • Reduces risk of illness among employees (Less sick time/time off taken)
  • Allows for other businesses to observe and implement best practices in promoting health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Essentially, this is a stamp of approval that lets your customers and employees know that you are protecting their safety. If you would like to apply for the county's Business Recognition Program, click HERE. There are no costs for the program, and the application only takes a few minutes to complete. 
Workplace outbreak guidance

The Department of Health Services (DHS) and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) have released guidance for employers related to preventing and managing COVID-19 outbreaks in the workplace.

business or organization

Typically, facilities need a space large enough to have about 15-20 people, socially distanced, at a time. A large break room, outdoor space, or training room would work. If interested fill out a request form (link below).
