Hello St. Gabriel Families!

Check out the following headlines and links to stay up to date on everything that is happening at St. Gabriel Parish School.

Catholic School Walk:

So far we have raised an amazing $15,830. We have surpassed our goal of $10,000 and are so incredibly grateful. Let’s keep it going! You can still help us raise money for our school. Please visit our St. Gabriel Team Page to register and start collecting donations.

Although the website will be open through the end of the year, only donations received before November 18th will be proportionally matched. Share your fundraising page with your friends and family via email and social media. Help us spread the word.

As a THANK YOU for helping us work toward our goal, we have a couple of exciting incentives to announce for our St. Gabriel School Families.

  • Register your family on our Team Page and collect your first donation to have your SHOE added to our WALL OF FAME at school! So far we have 75 shoes on our wall. Let’s keep going and fill that wall!

  • For every $100 in donations collected by a family, they will be entered into a raffle for a $500 tuition credit. For example, if your family collects $500 in donations, you will receive 5 raffle entries. So far we have 122 tickets in the raffle. One lucky winner will be drawn after November 18th so start collecting!

  • The top 10 families that collect the most donations by November 18th will enjoy a PIZZA PARTY with Father Tim and Mrs. Lestina (date and time to be determined).

  • As an extra challenge this year, any family that raised $250 or more as of Friday, October 21st was given the opportunity to participate in an IMPOSSIBLE SHOT contest created by our very own Mrs. Schulteis. This event was held during a special pep rally on Friday, October 21st.

Our winners were: Emma Sannes (Grade 3), Carter Erler( K5), and Nolan Poff (K5). These winners won an out-of-uniform pass for their families. In a special twist to the contest, Mrs. Wasserman and Mrs. Duerst teamed up to “slam dunk” their shot and win the entire school an out-of-uniform day this Friday, November 4th.

Students may be out of uniform this Friday. Out-of-uniform tops (compliant with our Catholic school standards) with jeans or athletic bottoms may be worn this Friday.

***If you are planning on retaking your school picture this Friday, you may bring something (out-of-uniform) to change into after your picture if you would like.

Grades 5-8: World Cultures/Languages Club:

We are excited to offer a special after-school opportunity. Our World Cultures/Languages Club will be led by Hubertus resident Mike Oemichen. Mike has spoken German since he was six, and has a B.A. in German from Hamline University in Minnesota. Additionally, Mike has used German extensively throughout his professional career and has experience teaching language to middle school students. This 6 week session will focus on German culture and language. If your child would like to learn more about Germany and start to learn the German language, they can do it right here at St. Gabriel.

Congratulations to All of Our Volleyball Teams!

On Friday night the 5th-grade boys played at home versus the 2 teams that were tied for 2nd place. In the first match, they hung on to win the first 2 sets to take the match against St. Dominics. In the 2nd match, they took on Burlington Catholic- who had beaten them earlier in the season. St. Gabe’s won the first set, lost the second, but pulled out the third in an exciting match in front of a full house of awesome fans!! With that, the 5th-grade boys won their division with an 8-2 record for the season. GREAT JOB- we are proud of your hard work this season!

On Saturday, the 5th/6th-grade girls were on fire! They took on Holy Angels, who had only lost one game all season, and they won!! Way to end the season on such a high note! You have been improving each week- we can’t wait to see how you carry that into next year! Congratulations on an awesome season.

The 7th/8th-grade girls have been on a tear. They took on St. Frances Cabrini on the road and managed to keep their perfect season intact. They went UNDEFEATED in league play and finish with an amazing 10-0 record!! That is incredible! But they are not done- please come out and watch them in the Seton Tournament on Wednesday and as they keep winning they will play Friday, Saturday, and Sunday too. Keep it going- the students, staff, and parents are behind you! GO HAWKS GO!

Seton Tournament Schedule:

Help us cheer on our 7th/8th-grade girls who are playing in the Seton tournament.  The first tournament games were Wednesday night.  They played a total of 6 matches last night (won 3 and lost 3) and advanced to round 2 of the tournament.  They played hard and represented our school very well.  We are all very proud of them!!  Please come out and continue to cheer them on.

The remainder of the tournament schedule is as follows:

  • 2nd Round - Friday, November 4th at 5:30 pm @ Milwaukee Sting Center
  • 3rd Round - Friday, November 4th at 7:30 pm @ Milwaukee Sting Center
  • Semi-Finals - Saturday, November 5th at 6 pm @ Catholic Memorial HS
  • Finals (1st & 3rd Place Matches) - Sunday, November 6th at 6 pm @ Catholic Memorial HS
