Happy New Year:

We hope that everyone had a very fun and restful Christmas break. It was nice welcoming all the students back to school Tuesday morning. While it was nice to be off for the holidays, they were eager to see all of their friends again and to continue their learning in the classroom.

With the beginning of the New Year, we start to look forward to celebrating Catholic Schools Week and begin planning for the 2024-2025 school year. Our Open House is scheduled for Sunday, January 28th, and will include a pancake breakfast beginning at 9:00 a.m. Please join us if you can!

Registration for the 2024-2025 School Year:

Registration for the next school year begins January 28th for new families. Our current school families will have the opportunity to register beginning January 18th. The registration link will be posted in the Gazette. You will NOT find the link online this year. Remember, there is an early registration discount of $250 per student (maximum of $1,000) if you register before March 31, 2024. Please see the links below for the updated tuition information.

Safety Protocol Meeting:

If you are a volunteer who works in our building either during or after school hours, please consider attending this safety meeting on Monday, January 15th at 8:00 a.m. in the parish hall. Deputy Bautz, from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, will be reviewing the safety protocol used in our building to help group leaders know what to do in case of an emergency in our building. The meeting is planned to take about 1 hour.

Winter Weather is Here:

We all knew that the time would eventually come when we would have to talk about the cold temperatures and snow. That time is upon us. The snow is beautiful but it comes with some additional safety precautions. Here are a few reminders about our winter weather protocols.

  1. Please make sure that your children come prepared to go outside for recess each day during winter. They will need boots, hats, and mittens. If the temperature, including the wind chill, is below 10 degrees, recess will be indoors.
  2. The sidewalks may be slippery! During drop-off and pick-up times, please remind your child(ren) to be extra careful getting into and out of your car. Also, please do not allow your children to walk behind the cars. We have had “fender benders” in the line and do not want anyone getting hurt.
  3. Please remind your children that playing and building in the snow at school is ok, however, they cannot throw snow. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, snowball fights will need to be saved for home.
  4. If we need to close school due to inclement weather, a notification will be sent to parents via email and text. The notification will also be posted on our website and Facebook page. In addition, we will report our school closing on TMJ 4, FOX 6, and WISN 12.

SCHOOL & PARISH EVENTS

Cub Scout Pack 139 and Boy Scout Troop 139 participated in Wreaths Across America on Saturday, December 16th. The Scouts helped place wreaths on over 700 veteran's graves in West Bend and then we also had our own event at the St Gabriel Cemetery where 70 additional wreaths were placed. It was a truly rewarding experience for the Scouts to be able to recognize our local veterans. As the wreaths were laid, the Scouts said the name of the veteran out loud to ensure that the legacy of duty, service, and sacrifice of each veteran is never forgotten.

"Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom. It’s the mission of Wreaths Across America."
