Catholic Schools Week:

With the beginning of the New Year, we start to look forward to celebrating Catholic Schools Week and begin planning for the 2024-2025 school year.

 Catholic Schools Week Schedule

Our Open House Showcase is next Sunday, January 28 and will include a pancake breakfast beginning at 9:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome! Please join us if you are able and invite family, friends, and neighbors. Each classroom will be showcasing what the students have been doing.

While reservations are not required, they are appreciated for planning purposes.

  • RSVP HERE
  • VOLUNEER HERE - there are only a few more volunteer opportunities available. Please prayerfully consider helping out! A BIG thank you to everyone who has already signed up to volunteer. We are grateful you are sharing your time and talents with us. Nikki Packee will touch base with all the volunteers early next week.

NOTE - This event is an opportunity for us to not only celebrate our school but also concentrate on new prospective families and answer any questions that they may have about St. Gabriel. While we appreciate that you may wish to speak to your child/ren's teacher about your child/ren, please understand their time may be limited. They will need to be available to speak to the new families that are visiting. If you have a concern or question, please reach out to your child's teacher directly and schedule a time to meet.  For the safety of everyone, please keep your child/ren with you at all times. Thank you!

The school calendar for the 2024-2025 school year will not be available until February/March. We are still waiting on some information and dates from the Archdiocese. The calendar will also be sent home via email and posted in the Gazette as soon as it is finalized and approved.

St. Gabriel Parish is looking for a person or a two-person team to clean our parish school. The schedule can be tailored around availability mostly during non-school hours. Approximately 4 hours per day (2:30 p.m. -6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday on school days only) for 1 person. Estimate 2 hours each per day for 2 people (3:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m.). Weekends and Summers off! Cleaning includes the school office, classrooms, bathrooms, floors, and glass doors. The parish hall, gym, and kitchen are not part of this position.

Winter Weather is Here:

We all knew that the time would eventually come when we would have to talk about the cold temperatures and snow. That time is upon us. The snow is beautiful but it comes with some additional safety precautions. Here are a few reminders about our winter weather protocols.

  1. Please make sure that your children come prepared to go outside for recess each day during winter. They will need boots, hats, and mittens. If the temperature, including the wind chill, is below 10 degrees, recess will be indoors.
  2. The sidewalks may be slippery! During drop-off and pick-up times, please remind your child(ren) to be extra careful getting into and out of your car. Also, please do not allow your children to walk behind the cars. We have had “fender benders” in the line and do not want anyone getting hurt.
  3. Please remind your children that playing and building in the snow at school is ok, however, they cannot throw snow. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, snowball fights will need to be saved for home.
  4. If we need to close school due to inclement weather, a notification will be sent to parents via email and text. The notification will also be posted on our website and Facebook page. In addition, we will report our school closing on TMJ 4, FOX 6, and WISN 12. Please remember, that when school is canceled, the building is closed and all afterschool activities have also been canceled.
