Hello St. Gabriel Families,

Check out the following headlines and links to stay up to date on everything that is happening at St. Gabriel Parish School.

Winter Weather Reminders:

We all knew that the time would eventually come when we would have to talk about the cold temperatures and snow.  That time is upon us.  The snow is beautiful but it comes with some additional safety precautions.  Here are a few reminders about our winter weather protocols.

  1. Please make sure that your children come prepared to go outside for recess each day during winter.  They will need boots, hats, and mittens.   If the temperature, including the wind chill, is below 10 degrees, recess will be indoors.
  2. Please remind your children that playing and building in the snow at school is ok, however, they cannot throw snow.  Unfortunately, for safety reasons, snowball fights will need to be saved for home.
  3. If we need to close school due to inclement weather, a notification will be sent to parents via email and text.  The notification will also be posted on our website and Facebook page.  In addition, we will report our school closing on WISN 12, and FOX 6.

Thanksgiving Food Drive:

We are collecting non-perishable food items for St. Boniface/St. Gabriel food pantry up until November 22nd. So far we have collected 260 items. Thank you to our eighth-graders for collecting and counting the items every morning. Also, a BIG thank you to everyone who is helping us feed the less fortunate during this holiday season!

In case you were not able to attend Mass yesterday, we celebrated Mrs. Fassbender's 30th Anniversary at St. Gabriel School.

Watch the short 7-minute video to see the blessing bestowed upon her and some pictures over the years! Congratulations again to Mrs. Fassbender and cheers to the next 30 years!!!🙌

Additional pictures were shared on our Facebook page.

Catholic School Walk:

So far we have raised an 🎉amazing $16,130🎉. You can still help us raise money for our school. Please visit our St. Gabriel Team Page to register and start collecting donations.

Our website will be open through the end of the calendar year, however, only donations received before November 18th will be proportionally matched. Share your fundraising page with your friends and family via email and social media. Help us spread the word.

As a THANK YOU for helping us work toward our goal, we have a couple more exciting incentives for our St. Gabriel School Families.

  1. For every $100 in donations collected by a family, they will be entered into a raffle for a $500 tuition credit. For example, if your family collects $500 in donations, you will receive 5 raffle entries. So far we have 122 tickets in the raffle. One lucky winner will be drawn Monday morning (November 21, 2022).
  2. The top 10 families that collect the most donations by November 18th will enjoy a PIZZA PARTY with Father Tim and Mrs. Lestina (date and time to be determined).

Mid-Year Parent Survey:

Thank you to everyone who participated in our mid-year parent survey. At the end of the survey, as a thank you, parents were prompted to enter their name in the hopper for a $25 $cript choice certificate. Lea Rosenberg's name was drawn and a certificate will be sent home via backpack mail. Thank you again to everyone for your participation and congratulations, Lea.

$CRIP News:

$crip cards are the perfect Christmas gift for all those hard to buy for people on your shopping list - mail persons, garbage collectors, babysitters, etc. We have a variety of cards available that are in stock. If you would like something that we don't have in stock, we place our orders on Mondays and the cards are normally in school on Thursday.

Please plan ahead for holiday orders. We will place orders on Monday, November 28 and Decemer 5, 12, and 19. Some cards might be back ordered and we cannot guarantee delivery before the holidays.

Visit the Raise Right (formally Shop with Scrip) site for a complete list or contact the School Office for an order form. $crip may be purchased after the weekend Masses, online, or in the School Office Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM until 2:30 PM. Checks made out to St. Gabriel or cash are also accepted.

If interested in learning more about buying certificates online, using the Raise Right app, please contact Laura Rogacki in the Parish Office (262-628-1141). If you have any questions, please contact Laura Rogacki in the Parish Office or Cindy Fassbender in the School Office (262-628-1711).
