From the desk of Mrs. Lestina

Hello St. Gabriel Families,

It was nice to see everyone at our parent nights last week. Thank you for coming out to learn more about what all of our committees and classroom teachers have planned.

We appreciate everyone who has volunteered to help us this year. If you are interested in volunteering (in the classroom, at an event, or for one of our committees) and have not done so already, please contact the school office and we will help get you started.

Also, please contact the School Office if anything has changed since you registered your child(ren) in terms of address changes, email, emergency contact information, etc.

Check out the following headlines and links to stay up to date on everything that is happening at St. Gabriel Parish School.

Spirit Groups:

Our spirit groups are up and running. Our first meeting was last Friday. The students learned about St. Joseph and the virtue of Hope. Our spirit shirts were distributed this week and they look awesome!! The artwork is a result of three student drawings compiled together by Mrs. Wasserman. Thank you to everyone involved in this project!!

Our next spirit group is scheduled for Thursday, October 6. Students and teachers should wear their spirit shirts to school on this day. They may wear out-of-uniform bottoms (shorts: 4 inches above the knee or longer, jeans, or athletic pants). Leggings may NOT be worn unless their spirit shirt is thigh length and fully covers a student’s backside.

Catholic Schools Walk:

Our Catholic School’s Walk (formerly known as Soles Walk) will be Saturday, October 22 after the 4:30 PM Mass. The event will be held here at school. Please mark your calendars.

Our goal this year is $10,000. The funds raised go directly to our school and will be used to help cover the school’s operational costs. Please visit our school’s Catholic Schools Walk page, register, and help us reach our goal. Thank You!!

More details will be available soon.

We Need Your Feedback:

As a result of the Spring survey, we are exploring a couple of new extracurricular clubs (Service Projects and Arts & Crafts) to offer our students and families.

Please click this link to take a quick survey so we can better understand your interests and begin planning.

** Please note: This year’s school calendar incorporates enough instructional time to offset one snow day. If there is a need for a second snow day, May 26th will need to be changed to an instructional day instead of an in-service day.
