Meet Our New Middle School ELA Teacher:

Mrs. Karen Jungwirth

I come to St. Gabriel with 16 years of teaching experience and am licensed in secondary education and English. A Catholic education is important to me and I am blessed to have spent much of my teaching career in a Catholic school. I have always loved reading and writing, and sharing this passion with others is what led me into teaching. My expertise is in middle school ELA and ninth-grade literature, and I also have a background in composition and creative writing. I am so excited to join the St. Gabriel family and look forward to meeting all of you in the fall!

Summer Bible Camp:

There are several more spots available. This camp is for all St. Gabriel students and parishioners in grades K5-4 (for the 2023-2024 school year). The group will meet Tuesday, July 11,18, 25, and August 1 from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. Mrs. Erdmann will lead the group.

Book Fair Chairperson URGENTLY Needed OR the Fair will go away:

This past May's Scholastic Book Fair will be the last one that our volunteer librarian, Katie Martinez, will chair. The Scholastic Book Fair is the primary source of funds that supply reading materials to our library.

Traditionally run by school parents, chairing a book fair is not difficult, and not even too time-consuming, especially if two or more people collaborate on running it.

Katie Martinez will still help out as a volunteer for the book fair and will be available to answer any questions. Please help us keep this much-loved and valuable resource for our school and library!

If you are interested or would like to know more, please contact the school office at 628-1711. Thank You

$crip Certificates:

$crip certificates/cards are the perfect gift ideas for graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, and thank yous. During the summer months, when school is not in session, you can still purchase your certificates after the weekend Masses or online.

Interested in learning more about buying online certificates using the RAISE RIGHT app? Please contact Laura Rogacki in the Parish Office (262-628-1141) for the program code.

SCHOOL & PARISH EVENTS

St. Gabriel's SAC would like to announce the successful discernment and onboarding of two new members to the upcoming school year School Advisory Commission. This August will mark the start of their 3-year term and commitment to representing parents, supporting the teachers and staff, and upholding the Mission of St. Gabriel Parish School.

We would like to welcome and congratulate Jessica Ditscheit and Katie Mancuso for stepping forward to help us continue the wonderful accomplishments of the last few years.

Jessica and her husband, Scott, have a son, Bo, starting 1st grade this school year.

Katie and her husband, Mick, have a son, Tony, starting 5th grade, and a daughter, Emily, starting 7th grade this school year.

We are excited to have their energy, ideas, and commitment to our efforts of continuous improvement and inclusion within our school community.

It is with sincere appreciation and recognition of their many efforts over the years that this moment also marks the 'end of term' for two standing members of the SAC - Sarah Kohls and Fran Musci.

Sarah is rotating off the SAC after two successful terms and Fran (after much consideration) is transitioning schools for her daughter and has decided to resign from her SAC position.

We owe them both a debt of gratitude, as their contributions have been invaluable. Both Sarah and Fran have been tireless volunteers on every front possible at St. Gabriel - we will not easily replace their energy, passion, and selflessness (our sincere thanks inserted here). We would not have the momentum and successful fellowship and fundraising events we enjoy today at St. Gabriel School without Sarah and Fran - we certainly appreciate you and will miss your contributions and servant leadership.

We welcome anyone with interest in the School Advisory Commission to visit the SAC page of the school website or reach out to Jeffrey Packee at [email protected]. We have one remaining SAC member position available for the upcoming year to fulfill a three-year obligation and look forward to hearing from you to share more details.

Thank you to everyone in our school community for your time, talent, and treasure - the collective energy makes this a very special place to educate our children.

Athletics has ONE open role for 2023-2024 school year:

Game Day Fundraising Manager

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage our concession stand during home events
  • Purchasing and maintaining the stock of supplies
  • Managing cash for the admissions table and concession stand during events.
  • Ideal role is for someone who enjoys deal shopping and entertaining guests with an array of options.

This role is integral to the success and financial well-being of the Athletics Department. They are also both supported by all members of the Athletics Committee. Athletics has only one meeting per year so the commitment for these roles is strictly during on-premise athletic events, approximately 6-12 per school year.

A BIG thank you to Cassandra Hetzer for stepping in as our Treasurer for the upcoming year.

The Athletics Committee:

Athletic Director - Jeff Poff
