2023/2024 School Calendar

Middle School ELA Teacher:

As you may remember, Mrs. Merkel, our middle school history and literature teacher, will be retiring at the end of this school year. She has been with us for the past 16 years and has helped us establish high expectations and a rigorous curriculum for all of our middle school students. She has been an integral part of our staff and she will be missed! However, we wish her nothing but the best and hope that she enjoys spending more time with her family during her retirement.

Next year, since Mrs. Erdmann minored in history, she will be teaching middle school history along with religion. This leaves an opening for an ELA (English, Language Arts) teacher.

It was no easy task to find someone to fill Mrs. Merkel's shoes, however, I am happy to share that we have been very fortunate to find and hire a middle school teacher that is excited to join our team. She is coming to us with 16 years of experience teaching ELA to sixth through ninth-grade students and 13 years of experience teaching in the Archdiocese. Her experience and expertise will ensure that we maintain the quality and rigor that we have established in our middle school. We are happy to welcome her to the St. Gabriel family. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

Immunization Requirement Changes:

Changes to the immunization requirements for students that were sent to us in February have been suspended. Please see the link to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services below for more details.

  • April 6 at 2:15 pm our 8th graders will perform The Way of The Cross (Living Stations). All are welcome!!
  • Raising the Alleluia: Monday, April 17 at 8:15 am in the Gym (for students)

Principal for the Day:

This past Monday I was fortunate to have an assistant to help me with my daily duties.  Miss Ellie Lee (1st grade) was the Principal for the day.  Her first order of business was to make Monday an out-of-uniform day.  When she arrived she helped welcome students and did a morning walk-through of all the classrooms with me.  She helped with various tasks throughout the day and was able to see some of the things that we take care of in the office.  She ended her day by helping us dismiss students in the car line.  Thank you Miss Lee for all of your assistance on Monday.  You did a fabulous job!!

Principal for the Day2

Fire Drill Assistant:

This past Tuesday Mr. Wyatt Helm (K5) assisted me during our school fire drill.  He helped make sure that everyone got out of the building quickly and safely.  After everybody was accounted for he called the all-clear and let everyone back in the building.  Thank you Mr. Helm for your assistance.

After-School Care:

If you need after-school care for your child, please remember to complete the April calendar.

To be able to provide adequate supervision we ask that parents sign their children up at least one day in advance. Any changes should be reported to the office that morning. Due to staffing requirements, we may not be able to accommodate last-minute requests. If your child is not on the after-school care list they should not be staying after school! Supervision is required for any student in the building after hours.
