Catholic Schools Walk:

Save the Date: Saturday, October 14th, 2023

Have you heard the news? On Saturday, October 14th, St. Gabriel Parish School will be holding a local Catholic Schools Walk right here on our own school campus! We will be celebrating Catholic education and raising money for our school. Students, families, alumni, educators, and St. Gabriel supporters are invited to rally together for this very important cause.

Donations raised by our school will help us reach our fundraising goal of $10,000.

The impact of your donation will do even more to help our school, as generous Catholic Schools Walk sponsors have stepped up to match a portion of the donations we receive.

  • Support us by texting SCHOOLSWALK51 to 71777 or by visiting our school's team fundraising page to set up your student's own fundraising page by using the link below. https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/SCHOOLSWALK/team/StGabriel
  • After you set up your student or family page, you can forward it to friends and family!
  • If all of our 85 families could raise $117 each (that's asking 10 friends and family for a $11 donation) we would easily reach our goal!

GO TEAM ST. GABRIEL!

After-School Care Learning Program:

St. Gabriel School’s After School Program is for students in all-day K4 through 8th grades. The program will run from 3:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day and costs $12.00 a day. This program is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students must be picked up promptly by 5:30 p.m. A $5 late fee will be charged for late pick-ups.

In order to be able to provide adequate supervision, parents must sign their children up at least one day in advance. Any changes should be reported to the office that morning. Due to staffing requirements, we may not be able to accommodate last-minute attendance requests. If space is available, a fee of $5 will be charged for same-day additions to the After School Care list. Since adequate staffing is arranged in advance, same-day cancellations to the program are non-refundable.

**August and September

late fees, cancellations, and drop-in charges have been waived. These charges will take effect in October and will be reflected in your statements.

Morning Drop Off Reminders:

Supervision begins outside at 7:40 each morning. The doors open for students to go

down to their classrooms at 7:50.  All students are expected to be in their classrooms ready for the day by 8:00. If they are not, they are considered tardy. Any students entering the building after 8:00 a.m. need to stop in the office to order their lunch.

Please remember:

  • Pull all the way up to the end of the sidewalk, or to the car in front of you, before your students exit the car.
  • They should exit on the passenger side of the vehicle.
  • Please do not get out of your car. A staff member will be there to help little ones out of the car if necessary.

Pick up Line:

We are off to a great start!! All things ran smoothly last week in both the drop-off and pick-up lines. Here are just a few reminders to keep everyone safe and the lines moving efficiently.

  • The first 2 posted spots in the carline are for our “skip the line” auction winners. Please do not stop in these spots. Only stop at the numbered cones.
  • Please do not exit your vehicles. There will be a staff member present to help students exit/enter cars on the passenger side. We do not want anyone walking between cars at any time.
  • Please pull around to the church parking lot to buckle your children in their car seats. Do not do this while still in the car line. In the morning, there will be a staff member present to assist students in unbuckling car seats.
  • If your child will not be going home their usual way (e.g., either going to a friend's house, someone else picking them up, not taking a bus that they normally take home), a note or phone call from a parent, is required with these special instructions. If it is a last-minute change, please make sure you call and speak to someone since an email may not be seen in time if sent at the end of the day. We must have parent confirmation of any change in student pick-up at the end of the school day, either via email or phone conversation with the school office staff.
  • Teachers will not keep a student after school without making arrangements with parents first. Students are to leave school grounds promptly after dismissal. The school assumes no responsibility for children who do not go directly home or who stay on the school grounds without proper supervision after school.

Picture Retake Day:

This year we will be using Network Photography for our school pictures and yearbook. The photographers will be here for retakes on Friday, September 29th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m..

They will be taking orders for yearbooks in January. You will not be able to order them until then. The link will be sent out as soon as we get it.

Any questions regarding picture retake day, please contact [email protected] or call 262-677-8662.

$crip Certificates:

Scrip is a Win-Win program - WIN for St. Gabriel School fundraising and WIN for our families tuition statements!

Special Thank You to 27 school families who actively participated in our Scrip Fundraising Program over the summer!

Between May 1 and August 31 our Parish-wide $crip Program earned over $4,700 in $crip Rebates. These rebates were earned by the Congregation, Formation and School Families.

For our School (and Formation) families, we share our rebates 50/50 (50% for the fundraiser and 50% for tuition assistance). As of August 31, we issued over $1,000 in Scrip Credits to those 27 participating school families. These credits appear on our 9/6 tuition statements.

If you have not joined the program yet, please ask Cindy Fassbender at the school office for more information. Let’s see if we can get 40 or more school families to participate in September!

You may purchase $crip cards in the school office, after weekend Masses, or online.

HAWKS and LADY HAWKS VOLLEYBALL UPDATE!

We had an exciting opening weekend of volleyball.

  • All 3 boys teams (5th, 6th, 7/8th) won their matches!
  • The 5/6th grade girls lost both of their tough-fought games in a doubleheader to start the season.
  • The 7/8th grade girls won their first match (by forfeit) and looked good in their 2nd match, but came out on the losing end.

We are looking forward to watching all teams grow as the season progresses.

Come cheer on the 7/8th grade girls as they play at home this Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m..

You don’t want to miss it as this is their ONLY home date this season!

All St. Gabriel students get FREE admission to all home volleyball games!!

Hope to see you there!
