"Save your egg cartons!!"

The Food Pantry has begun offering fresh eggs to the clients. You are probably aware of the rising cost of eggs, and the Pantry continues to look for ways to keep costs down. So, they are asking that you please save your empty egg cartons and donate them to the Food Pantry. The Pantry would much prefer spending donations on the actual eggs, not on cardboard cartons.

Please leave your empty egg cartons in the plastic container outside of Boyer Chapel, along with any food donations. But keep them separate from the soups that are being collected for Souper Bowl Sunday.

Please contact the Rescue Mission Thrift Stores directly to make sure they are open and taking donations.

Did you know we had a reading program at NOHO FUMC?

There is a special section of the library in the Lounge where the Reading Program books can be found,

I have put 5 or 6 books from each category in an empty cabinet in the Hand-in-Hand room. If you would like to look over the books in this Mini Library or the big library in the Lounge, please see me during the fellowship time after the church service and I can open these rooms for you.

There is so much more to tell about the Library and the Reading Program. Talk to me in person or wait for my next article in The Good News.

From your church librarian,
Lynn Yoshizumi

Roger Eshleman requests prayers for his sister, Joan Velde, who will undergo radiation the next few weeks. Recent treatments have not proved to be successful. Joan is hopeful that the radiation will stop the growth of many tumors from her lymphoma.

Wendy Welch is concerned for her brother in-law, who had shoulder replacement surgery and now has a pinched nerve and his hands are now shaky.

Kathi Ellis is now in a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation and is doing well.

Carrie Minetree was diagnosed with breast cancer again and recently had a mastectomy. She is recuperating at home. Her husband, Charles, is also worried about his mother, who recently was dignosed with shingles.

Mychal Guyton is recuperating from his second TIPS procedure. Doctors say it was a success.

Rhonda Scott is still recovering from a severe stroke several years ago. She lives in Tampa, Florida and would lovosome cards or notes. Please contact the church office for Rhonda's address.

Sandra Benton was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and will underwent radioactive iodine treatment.

Amy Pimentel has a tumor on her humerus bone and her specialist at San Diego University claimed she is a medical mystery. Please pray for her to find an end to the pain so she will be able to return to work and support her son.

Please lift us Byron and DeAnne Hayes. DeAnne was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and is staying in a care facility. She is losing cognition and Byron is lonely without his best friend. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.

Roger Eshleman's sister, Joan Velde, is receiving alternative treatments for her cancer.

Lift up our black communities. For the elimination of racism in all forms: individual and systemic (institutional and structural).

We pray for those struggling financially.

Pray for parents who are juggling home school with their children.

Prayers for our medical professionals and those who are in essential services.

We pray for our world and our leaders. We lift up our country.

We pray for our seniors and elderly. May they get their Covid-19 vaccinations without major frustration.

Prayers for those detained in detention centers.

The United Methodist Church during this time of change.

Prayers for those out of work and searching for a job.

Prayers for those with mental illness and depression.

Prayer for our neighborhood, our state, our nation, and the world. As well as our leaders.

Lets celebrate with praise and thanks!
