Strength & Conditioning Camp with Keith

Join Keith 2 mornings per week in our new personal training center! These sessions will run similar to small group training with a maximum capacity of 8 people. You will get individual attention as you learn how to use our new equipment. You may sign up for one month at a time, or multiples, but a minimum monthly commitment is required.

Nicki Doane is coming to Oranj!  
We are thrilled to announce a company wide yoga tour with world renown Yoga Instructor and Guru Nicki Doane!  Nicki Doane will be travelling to our Kelowna studio all the way from Maui!  She is the Co-Founder of Maya Yoga, been on the cover of Yoga Journal, and has personally trained many of our own instructors here at Oranj! We are over the moon excited to be hosting her on an Oranj yoga circuit!

Nicki Doane began her yoga journey in college, which led her to India in 1991 upon graduating. There she met her teacher, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, who taught her to love her practice and to remain joyful in it. Although rooted in Ashtanga Yoga, Nicki's classes are in the Maya Yoga style, which combines asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, and poetry. She is known for being precise, passionate, and funny in her presentation of the sacred practice of yoga.

Instructor of the Month

Jonny Karroll is a cool cat! He has traveled in a rock band, works at lululemon, and spends most of his days upside down!

Jonny started his yoga adventure in 2010 originally for flexibility and to do sweet moves like handstands!  He took his training in California where he studied classical ashtanga yoga with his guru Baba Hari Dass. Jonny loves arm balances, inversions, and acro yoga!

Jonny teaches a Zen Yoga Tuesday's at 8:15pm, Happy Hour Flow Friday's at 4:30pm and Easy Yoga Friday's at 5:45pm.  Jonny also is putting on a 6 week yoga workshop starting in April. See below for more details!   
Playful Yoga Sign-Up Series

Jonny Karroll is hosting an inversion series that will turn your practice upside down!

Join Jonny on Saturday's starting in April for a 6 week sign-up series which will help deepen your practice, get comfortable with arm balancing, and master inversions!
 
Jonny will choose a different posture each week to break down, practice, and create variations for everyone attending.

Saturday's, April 9, 16, 23, & 30 as well as May 14 & 21 
11:00am - 12:15pm

Ivivva Presents: Camp Oranj!

Are your girls looking for something fun to do over Spring Break? Oranj is pairing with Ivivva for another one of our FUN girl's day camps! Taking place on Friday, March 18 and March 25, the day will be jammed packed with lots of fun classes including barre, bootcamp, jazz, zumba, and hip-hop, goal setting/dream coaching, and a superfood vegan smoothie each day! Girl's are required to bring their own lunch.

Drop off at Oranj Fitness no earlier than 9:30am and pick up at Ivivva at 5:00pm 
 
Only 30 spots available. Must sign-up and pre-pay in advance. Investment $45 per day.
 
*Day camp starts at 9:45am each morning
CHECK OUT OUR MATS FOR METTA CLASS THIS MONTH. 

Each month we offer a different class by donation. These donations will go towards donating mats, props, and instructors to those who do not have yoga easily accessible to them.

In the past Mats for Metta has donated to The Canadian Mental Health Organization, The Canadian Cancer Foundations Rotary Lodge, The Boys & Girls Club, the Lit from Within Project, and many schools.

March: Come kick some ass in Sarah Fraser's Legs for Days Bootcamp, Wednesday's at 4:15pm. This class works your lower body and will leave your legs screaming for more.... or less!

April:  Get your cardio fix in Kaitlyn McKay's Tour de Oranj Spin on Thursday's at 5:45pm. This is a no impact, high intensity stationary bike workout. Her dynamic instruction and powerful music will motivate everyone towards their fitness goals!

Michelle Blackford
Michelle Blackford has been at Oranj Fitness since we opened the doors 8 years ago. She has a wide variety of certifications and teaches bootcamp, spin, yoga, barre and pilates. Michelle has motivated thousands people with her enthusiastic classes and we are excited to have her as one of our personal trainers. Michelle's philosophy is that fitness is for everyone and she believes that everyone can benefit from personal training. Whether you are a beginner and need a little extra instruction, training for a Triathlon or fitness competition, or setting a personal goal, Michelle can cater to your individual needs.

Keith Lanouette
Keith has been in the fitness industry for 7 years now and has a vast variety of knowledge working with clients of all abilities and tailors his fitness programs to each individual's specific needs. Whether you are just beginning your fitness journey, injured, wanting to lose a few inches, or training for a Triathlon, Keith is your guy. Keith will not only be your trainer for the one hour sessions, but your accountability partner every day, no matter where you are. Keith treats his clients like family and wants to see them succeed and crush their goals even more than they do!

Rachel Doell  
Rachel Doell has been training and creating confidence through movement for 8 years in Kelowna. She's an expert in creating lean defined muscle and teaching people to have fun doing it. Alanna Hotchkiss 
Alana Hotchkiss is a life-long Kelowna girl and sweat-enthusiast! She has been training clients and teaching a variety of fitness classes at Oranj since her graduation from the Human Kinetics Program at UBCO in 2015. Since then, she has been working non-stop with an amazing group of devoted fitness junkies and those new to fitness ranging in all body types and exercise backgrounds. She specializes in muscle toning and strength gains, fat loss, sport and event-specific training, boosting energy, increasing flexibility and range of motion, and has her pre and post-natal fitness specialist designation. Alanna is looking to not only support you through personal training but ensure you reach your goals through motivational support in and outside of the gym!
Alanna is guaranteed to make you sweat, smile, and push yourself making you achieve your goals! 
NEW SCHEDULE & SIGN UP POLICIES

It's a new schedule with a new expansion and things are still booming at the studio! A reminder to all, that registration opens 7 days PRIOR to the class start date. Don't shy away from the wait-list, and make sure when you sign up for class, you are aware of our late-cancel policy. 
 
Have a question regarding our policy? Check out some FAQ from clients below and remember our front desk staff is always available to answer your questions.
 
Q:   I registered for the 9:15am bootcamp, and the 10:45 am spin, but the first class kicked my ass!  Can I cancel my second class after I get out of the first? 
A:   Chances are that all of our classes are going  kick your ass! That's what they are designed to do ;) If you come out of class and cancel you second class you will have the late-cancel penalty on your account. 

Q:  If I am on the wait-list and show up to the studio, will I automatically get into the class if someone doesn't show up? 
 A: 
 If a guest that is registered for the c lass is not signed in 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start time and you are first on the wait-list (or the only one from the wait-list here) then yes. If you are signed up for the class, please arrive at least 5 minutes early for class. If you are not checked in 5 minutes before the class starts, we will give your spot up to those on the wait-list who are waiting at the studio. Signing-up for class before-hand does not guarantee your position in class if you are late. If you are going to be late for class, please call the studio so we know to hold your spot. 
   
Q: I am on the wait-list for the 6AM class, what happens if I get moved into the class overnight and don't see the email until after I wake up in the morning? 
A: You are responsible for monitoring the wait-list for all your classes, even the 6AM and 7AM times, either the evening before or morning of. Please treat being on the wait-list as if you were registered for the class. If you know you are not able to attend the class, please remove yourself from wait-list the night before so another guest can attend the class. Tip: People have a habit of oversleeping, especially for the 6AM, so if you are still on wait-list, just roll out of bed and come sweat! A spot has likely opened up, or we have another class going on for you to attend.  

Q: I am on the wait list for spin at 12:05 and I have signed up for bootcamp at the same time. If I get into spin, will I have a late-cancel on my account if I cancel bootcamp?
A: We have tried, and it is pretty challenging to be in 2 classes at once;) So yes, if you make it into the spin class (which you were wait listed) then you must cancel your bootcamp right away. You will get a notification at least 3 hours before your class if you got into the spin class. If you do not cancel the bootcamp class before 3 hours of the class you will have a "late cancel" on your account. If you know that you will not be able to access your email for the 4 hours leading up to the class, then it would be in your best interest to cancel one of the classes in the morning before you go into work. Remember 3 "late cancels" or "no shows" and your online sign up privileges are taken away for one month. 
   
 
Q:  Can I remove myself from the wait-list without being charged within the 3-hour late-cancel period?
A:  Absolutely! If you know you can't make that class anymore please remove yourself from the wait-list at any time, at no penalty. The only time time the late cancellation policy is in effect is when you have been moved into class. If you are on the wait-list, please remember that we assume you want to take class! Treat the wait-list like you have signed up.
   
Q:  I was charged for a late-cancel when I didn't show up for a wait-listed class, but I didn't know that I was added to the class.
A:   Guests are responsible for checking their own online registration. A confirmation email will be sent once you have been added to class. Remember you can always give us a call to check your wait-list status.  
   
Q:  I am on the wait-list for the 5:30pm class but really need to sweat today so I also signed up for the 6:45pm in case I don't get in. It's 2:00pm and I now made it into the 5:30pm class, can I cancel my 6:45pm class at no charge?
A:  Yes! As long as you cancel your second class before the 3-hour late cancel window you will not be charged. Please make sure that you are remembering to do this, so other guests can enjoy the class as well.
