The holidays have arrived and you're invited to spend some quality time with us during this festive season! We're offering fun events for all ages both on-site and around the community. Enjoy a showing of The Muppet Christmas Carol; build a "gingerbread" house at a Polar Express-themed family craft night. Learn how to decorate cookies or gift wrap like a pro, or take a stroll with us on a special downtown lights walking tour. These events are just a sampling of the fun we'll be having this month! Pictures with Santa

Attention all children, parents, and Christmas elves! On Saturday, December 6 from 10 AM-12 PM, Santa will be visiting the library in hopes of meeting all the good children. Bring your camera to photograph your visit!


After you visit Santa, we invite you to stick around for free Christmas-themed crafts for kids of all ages. In addition, the Danville Children’s Choir will lead group caroling at 10:30 AM. Then see Santa again at Danville's Small Town Christmas festival & parade later that day! (All Ages)

Historic Holiday Decor

Join us at the Story Center at Grayson’s Tavern to make historic holiday decorations to take home. Holiday decorating in decades past involved bringing nature into the home, using materials like fruits, nuts, spices, and evergreen clippings to enliven the space. Stop by as part of the Danville Small Town Christmas festivities to make your own pomanders and garlands. (All Ages) Learn more!

Holiday Gift Wrapping Like a Pro

Just Try It is a program series for adults wanting try a new experience or activity. This month you'll learn the tricks of the trade from a former Macy’s department store gift-wrapper. Be ready to impress your friends and family with your beautifully wrapped gifts this holiday season!(Ages 18+) Learn more!

The library will close early at 3 PM on New Year's Eve, and will be closed on New Year's Day.
