2020 Census
The 2020 census is critical for knowing where to allocate money and resources to pay for social services crucial to our community.

Adopt a Precinct
Do you belong to an organization serving Southeast Alaska? The state board of elections is looking for organizations to take over the running of precincts this election. Earn money for your organization while contributing to the critical electoral process!
To be a member of United Way Worldwide nine major requirements must be met.

There are 1,078 United Ways in the USA, and United Way of Southeast Alaska is among the 520 that completed the 2020 United Way Worldwide membership requirements by their due dates.

First, they must be recognized as exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. 
Second, they must comply with all applicable legal, local, state and federal operating and reporting requirements.

Third , they are required to have an active, responsible, and voluntary governing body which ensures effective governance over the policies and financial resources of their organization. 
New AmeriCorps Cohort 2020-2021 Term

United Way of Southeast AmeriCorps Program will be hosting 13 AmeriCorps members from 10 states. The first virtual zoom orientation will begin August 3 and run through August 14. Members will be remaining in their homes and will follow Juneau quarantine requirements.
Over the next three years, our primary focus is on improving academic performance in early literacy. Five elementary schools and one licensed child care center in Juneau committed to hosting AmeriCorps members to serve as an Early Literacy Program Support Assistant. Program Assistants and volunteer reading tutors will work individually with a minimum of 60 Pre-K through 3rd-grade struggling readers and connecting with families to help link the school to home learning pathways. However, we are multi-focus with members serving outside this area.
Members will be serving at five elementary schools, Little Eagle and Raven Childcare (LEARN), Alaska Housing Development Corporation - Gruening Park, Alaska Association for the Education of Young Children (AEYC), Southeast Regional Resource Center (SERRC), Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association (ASHNHA), Zach Gordon Youth Center, and Juneau Suicide Prevention Council.
With much appreciation for their service in this time of COVID-19, we genuinely believe their time in Juneau will provide significant support to our community. Please welcome our members as they descend upon Juneau!

United Way of Southeast Alaska and KINY Radio Station are proud to announce our winners of the United Way of Southeast Alaskan Independence Day Photo Contest!  The photo contest was designed to bring awareness to the United Way of Southeast Alaska and benefit 34 nonprofits in our communities. We encouraged entries to see how YOU celebrated the 4th of July in this amazing part of the country we get to call home!
