A SPECIAL INVITATION
BRING A MEMORY: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30
On Sunday, October 30, Rev. Joanne will lead a service called, "What the Living Do". Part of the service will include a ritual to honor loved ones who have died and whose memory lives on. She leads this as a celebration of the holy days called by various names: Halloween, Samhain, All Souls Day, among others.

If you feel so moved, please bring a photograph of someone who has died, whose memory you would like to honor. Alternatively, you might like to bring an object or a small special food item that reminds you of the person whom you would like to remember.

During the service, you will be invited to come forward to silently add your item to an altar of memory. So that others can view your item, you might label it. For example, you could write: In memory of my father, Joseph Giannino. His daughter, Joanne Giannino.

If you have questions, please email Rev. Joanne at  interim-minister@uucuc.org

Call for SHARED OFFERING NOMINATIONS

Do you know of a nonprofit organization (local, state, national, or international) that deserves a financial contribution from the church?

The Social Action Committee (SAC) is now soliciting nominations for the SHARED OFFERING recipients for 2017 to be chosen by our church community.

The chosen organizations will receive half of the cash collection from each Sunday service for one month, as well as any designated checks.

Please submit your nomination through the survey available on the Social Action table in Fellowship Hall or through the survey available through this link: http://conta.cc/2cZuiO6 .
Deadline for submitting is Nov 6.

Thank you for taking the time to nominate a worthy recipient organization!
CHURCH ACCESSIBLITY
Come join us on Sunday, October 16th at noon in the YRUU Room. Are you concerned about our church being fully accessible for everyone that might wish to join us? We are forming a task force to review accessibility issues at our church. After identifying areas that need improvement we will research solutions and submit a report of our findings to the Board of Trustees. If you are unable to attend but still wish to participate contact Bill Childers at:  wchilder@comcast.net.
THANK YOU AND GOODBYE
Linda Scheidler has announced her resignation as Office Administrator effective Friday, October 21. Linda's warm and friendly personality helped create a pleasant environment in the church, especially in the office. She will be missed. I hope you will join me in thanking her and wishing her well in her next position.
