Hardy World, LLC, based in Bentleyville, Pennsylvania, has announced plans to establish a speculative industrial development at Marysville, Union County, Ohio, pending local approval. Hardy World was founded in 2017 by Joe Hardy, who also founded 84 Lumber. This speculative development will be located on 9 acres of land in the 33 Innovation Park and will be Hardy World’s first foray into the Columbus-area market.

Velocys, An Alternative Fuels Company Expands Manufacturing in Union County
Velocys manufactures reactors that produces advanced biofuels from large, sustainable carbon sources such as household waste and forest residues. This technology enables sustainable fuels made from waste materials for aviation and heavy goods transport to help achieve net zero emissions and improve air quality.

Velocys Inc. has signed a 15-year lease for a $10 million, 52,000-square-foot production facility off Warner Road in Jerome Township.

MORPC and the Columbus Partnership Supports Amtrack Expansion in Ohio
The organizations held two briefings in the fall with Amtrak executives and former U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, and have convened a group of thought leaders that includes officials from Ohio State University, the Greater Columbus Convention Center and the Columbus and Franklin County governments.

This map that Amtrak released March 31 last year shows where Amtrak said it could expand service if it received $80 billion in federal aid. The dark lines show Amtrak's national network. The light lines show where there would be new service or possible new service.
