Police Department
Sgt. Mike Hamsley was recognized at the June 19, 2018 City Council Meeting for 40 years of service with the City of Perry Police Department. Sgt. Hamsley began his career with the department on June 3, 1978 and currently serves as the Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC). Sgt. Hamsley is married to Kelly, and they will be celebrating their 38th wedding anniversary soon. They have two children and two grandchildren.

Ava Phipps was recently hired by the Perry Police Department for the position of police officer. Officer Phipps previously worked at the Centerville Police Department, Macon Police Department, Bibb County Sheriff Department, as well as the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office. Officer Phipps has a MS in Criminal Justice with a dual specialization in Forensic Psychology, and is a doctoral candidate for a PHD in Public Safety Leadership. 

Ryan Hicks was recently hired by the Perry Police Department for the position of police officer. Officer Hicks was born and raised in Warner Robins and graduated from Houston County High School. Officer Hicks has a BS degree in Criminal Justice from Middle Georgia State University and graduated from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center Academy in Tifton.
