Ohio Author Festival

Join us at the Crossroads Branch of the Guernsey County District Public Library as we welcome authors Amanda Flower, Heather Webber, Natalie Richards, Mindy McGinnis, Kate Hoefler, Jacob Paul Patchen, Beth Gleason, Anne Chlovechok, Christopher Kincaid, Rainy Day Writers and Writers at the Crossroads. We'll have author talks, time for book signings, and a storytime for children with local picture book author Kate Hoefler. For more information click here.

Fall Festival
National Road & Zane Grey Museum

The National Road & Zane Grey Museum, 8850 East Pike, Norwich, will host their annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be games and activities for kids, campfire cooking and author visits. Kind Hands 4 Paws will bring adoptable dogs. Kathy’s Burgers and Stuff Food Truck and Mix it Up Lemonade will be there as well. Music will be provided by Steve and Beverly Pottmeyer. From 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. everyone is invited to participate in a National Road Driving Tour between the John & Annie Glenn Museum and the National Road Museum. Anyone turning in a completed passport will be entered in a drawing to win one of 2 $50 gift cards. Passports may be picked up at the John & Annie Glenn Museum on Main Street in New Concord beginning at 9:00 a.m. All activities and tours will be free on Fall Festival Day but donations to support the museum’s educational programming are appreciated. For more information call 740-826-3305 or visit www.nationalroadandzanegreymuseum.org.

The kitchen opens at 5:00pm, and the show starts at 7:00pm.
The Pennyroyal Opera House is a bluegrass venue located in Fairview, Ohio along interstate I-70 at exit 198. The Pennyroyal Opera House began operations in 1995 and is a not for profit organization set up by The Pennyroyal Reunion committee. Bluegrass shows were started in late summer of 1995 and continue to present on selected Friday evenings only.

dog insurances. Get your pet microchipped and groomer available for nail trimming. Vet & Vet tech on hand. Happy hour drinking pool for the dogs. Demonstrations and games for everyone! Bring a bag of dog food to donate to the animal shelter and receive a extra door prize!

Come join us on a fun filled night all about pumpkins. Did you know that 1.5 billion pounds of pumpkins are produced each year in the United Sates and Ohio is one of the top 5 pumpkin growing states?Also, pumpkins are considered fruits and there are 45 different varieties of pumpkin. We will be learning how pumpkins grow, the different types of pumpkins, and what uses each. 2nd Annual Byesville Fire Haunted House

Join us for our 2nd annual Haunted House and Costume Party October 28th and 29th. Costume Party will be on the 28th starting at 6pm, Haunted House will be a 2-night event this year on the 28th and 29th. Costume judging ages will be 0-2, 3-5, 6-12, 12+. The Costume Party will be in the fire department Bingo Hall/ Training Building (middle building). Waivers for Haunted House must be signed before entry, Minors under the Age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. $5 Fee per person for Haunted House. For more information click here.

Sherlock Holmes Weekend November 3 & 4, 2023

They’re back! Join your fellow partners in crime in Cambridge, Ohio for Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Candy Cane Codicil.

Local playwright Anne Chlovechok has penned this, her eighth original Sherlock Holmes mystery especially for Cambridge.
 
Holmes and Watson have come to Cambridge to celebrate the wedding of Sherlock's brother, Mycroft, and plan to stay for
Christmas. But their plans are interrupted when an important local resident is murdered, and they must place their festivities on
hold to investigate a Murder Most Foul!
 
Join the world’s most famous consulting detective Sherlock Holmes and his partner in crime, Dr. Watson, as they take on a
despicable criminal who will attempt, by hook or by crook, to get what he wants, in Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Candy
Cane Codicil on November 3 & 4, 2023.
