Conferences, Classes and Creative Opportunities

The Allen Neighborhood Farmers Market is currently seeking featured artists for their summer market days. In much the same way they have featured local musicians and dancers at the market for years, they would like to provide exposure for local visual artists (painters, photographers, potters, glass artists, jewelers, textile artists) and increase art appreciation and awareness among their patrons.

Register  today for the third annual nonprofit Talent Strategy Summit. This premier event is a great opportunity to learn and share strategies to recruit, develop and retain diverse talent.  Attendees can expect to be part of high level discussions and gain immediate practical leadership skills. 

Collective Contests announces a Script to Screen Challenge. Using a provided script,  make a two-minute narrative film. You'll need actors and a location, but most importantly you'll need to tell the story in a unique and engaging way. The script is deliberately vague to be transferable across genres- horror, comedy, drama, etc.

Clinton County Arts Council: Sidewalk Poetry Contest

The Sidewalk Poetry Contest is open to all current and former residents of Clinton County.

Clinton County Arts Council is  looking for poems that reveal and celebrate the writer's connection to the artistic, creative and cultural life of St. Johns.

Some parameters for the contest:
  • Please use Times Roman 12 pt. font
  • Set your right and left margins to 2.25 in. each.
  • Poems should not exceed 20 lines. This count includes title, author's name and all blank lines and stanza breaks.

Poets retain ownership of the work, but the Clinton County Arts Council reserves the right to use reproductions of the work.

The deadline for submission is Aug. 2 with final etching taking place in early September.
