Potter Park Zoological Society is currently seeking a Fund Development Assistant. This position assists in identifying, soliciting and cultivating a variety of major gift prospects and donor sources. This person plays a key role in capital campaigns, as well as other events.

Potter Park Zoological Society is also looking to fill the position of Special Projects Coordinator. This position works with the executive director and fund development assistant to locate potential opportunities for events at the zoo. The person will participate in day-to-day activities and cultivate donor relationships and activities.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is conducting an internal/external recruitment process to fill the vacancy of Video and Media Content Designer. This position works as a video production specialist for the MEDC and its programs to conceptualize and create cutting-edge, dynamic multimedia and video products to present the MEDC to various levels of social media audiences, press and industry stakeholders.

Conferences, Classes and Creative Opportunities

Rochester Contemporary Art Center's annual 6x6 Exhibition is an international small art phenomenon with thousands of works from all around the world, and they want you to be a part of it. It is completely free, and you may enter up to three 6 by 6-inch pieces in any medium (except glitter) by April 14.

The East Lansing Art Festival is a juried fine art festival, consistently ranked in the Sunshine Artists Magazine's "Top 200" fine art and craft shows. The East Lansing Art Festival provides an exhibition and marketplace opportunity for artists who create original works of art. Their Emerging Artist program encourages future art festival exhibitors by giving up-and-coming artists an opportunity to be awarded free space to exhibit among seasoned artists in a fine art festival setting.

Scrapfest 11  is currently accepting applications. Competing Scrapfest Art Teams and Eco Vendors must apply online. A "team" consists of 1 to 5 members, but teams may have anyone help with their sculpture during build-time. Each team must appoint one team leader who will act as the team's main contact. Deadline to apply is March 1.

Art in the Wild is creating a new outdoor art mural series and requesting proposals of original, already completed artwork. Selected works will be photographed and used as digital high-definition images adhered to exterior walls surrounding Ranney Park and the Red Cedar Park for the purpose of promoting clean water. Deadline to enter is April 15.

The construction of the Susan and Jack Davis Nature Pavilion at Fenner Nature Center opens the door to new opportunities. Among these new opportunities is the ability to host ecological art exhibitions, and they want you to submit your pieces for consideration.  Fenner Nature Center is seeking artist submissions for they inaugural ecological art exhibition "Sunrises & smokestacks: Deconstructing the Divide Between Urban & Wild Spaces." Deadline to apply is June 28.

This is the 3rd year of the Cracked Pot Studio Tour which is a celebration of clay art, clay artists and the amazing studios where the work is created. It is a unique opportunity to sell your work in a private studio setting with other ceramic artists from around the state. Twelve rural ceramic studio artists, located from Bath to Williamston to Mason, have opened their studios for this tour and will invite a total of 40 additional Michigan ceramic artists to join the tour and sell their work at their studios. Deadline to be considered is April 30.

The Austin Veteran Art Festival is seeking national submissions for visual art by Veteran artists and their family members to be on exhibit during the AVA Fest. This city-wide festival held in Austin, Texas will include visual art, performance art, literary arts, music, health and wellness, culinary arts and so much more in various venues across the city. Deadline for submission is April 1.

The Ingham Student Art Exhibit is a competition open to all K-12 students within the Ingham Intermediate School District service area. Each participating school may submit up to 20 entries of student artwork created during the 2018-2019 school year. A qualified juror, in partnership with the Lansing Art Gallery,  will select 60 works of art to be professionally framed and exhibited. The selected artwork will be displayed for one year in the lobbies of the Michigan Education Leadership Group in Lansing and Ingham ISD in Mason. Deadline to apply is March 1.

Do you have a performance, workshop, or series of events in need of a home? Are you looking for a place to share your creative or scholarly research? Want to test an idea in progress? Submit your proposal to the Broad Art Museum's  Community Open Call, a new initiative that invites creative thinkers from the Mitten State to propose ideas that they will help bring to life. The next application review is Feb. 28.

Aesthetica Art Prize is open for entries
Hosted by Aesthetica Magazine, the Aesthetica Art Prize is a celebration of excellence in art from across the world.

It offers both emerging and established artists the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience and further their engagement with the international art world. The judging panel enhances its position in the industry, bringing together specialists from leading cultural institutions.

There are two awards for entry: the Main Art Prize and the Emerging Art Prize. The Emerging Art Prize is open to current students and artists who have graduated within the last two years. The Main Art Prize is open to all, including those eligible for the Emerging Art Prize.

You may enter up to two (2) works per entry fee and may enter as many times as you wish. Works produced within the last three (3) years are preferred, although works made at any time before submission can be entered. Collaborative works are accepted.

The deadline to submit a body of work for consideration is Aug. 31.
