Happy New Year and welcome back to school! It was so wonderful to see our faculty and students this (short week), as we welcomed in the New Year together as a school family! Faces appeared to be rested and revived, and Christmas vacation highlights were enthusiastically and freely shared. The energy was certainly elevated in the school building as memories were relived and presents received were spoken about. A wonderful finale to the week was First Friday Mass with attendance by the youngest members of the family. Preschoolers were pleased to see their church buddies arrive at their classroom doors to escort them for the trek down Main Street.
This easy partial week will be a distant memory, as next week we jump right into academic rigor, as our students will once again be asked to demonstrate their knowledge of grade level concepts through our second round of MAP Growth testing. Please make note of the week that your child(ren)’s class will be engaging in testing, so that you can assure the necessary components of preparation for a successful testing experience. Students that are well rested, well fed and have positive attitudes will be more apt to perform well. Students will also need reminders to take their time, to click carefully, and to do their best on the test. Thank you for your continued support!
Looking slightly ahead to month’s end, we will all look forward to celebrating our school during National Catholic Schools Week. More details coming soon as how you can prepare and plan for the week’s festivities, as well as ways that you might be able to help us in executing a faith and fun-filled week for our students.
Have a great weekend and God bless.
Mrs. Russo
