We turn the calendar tomorrow and welcome in the month of December! Where does the time go? I hope that you all had an enjoyable Thanksgiving break and a successful transition back to the full schedule of school and extracurricular activities.
We have a busy and exciting week on the horizon, as we enter into the Advent season. First up, we have our Patronal Feast Day on Monday which will consist of Holy Mass @ 9am. Please join us if you are able. Immediately following, we will honor the missionary work of St. Francis with a special treat! Later in the afternoon each class will receive a description of their SVDP family that they will be praying for and donating gift cards to during this Advent season. Thank you in advance for your charitable and generous giving to those less fortunate than ourselves.
If one celebration is not enough, our second will arrive on the Feast of St. Nicholas on Thursday! This annual visit from St. Nick is a much loved and anticipated event! Students will be leaving their shoes in the hallways on Wednesday afternoon to await their filling by the saint who began our Christmas tradition of giving. Our jolly friend will make classroom visits on Thursday, and will also cut the ribbon to open our 8th Grade St. Nicholas Workshop. It will please St. Nicholas greatly that our students are generously donating new and gently used toys for Gifts to Give. Toys can be brought in starting on Monday, and will remain in the classrooms until they are presented to St. Nicholas on Thursday.
Thanks so much for all that you do and
have a great weekend!
