A Note from Scott and Marsha

We are celebrating all things spring in the garden these days- from beautiful blooms and spring blooming trees to special birthdays and work anniversaries! We are almost officially crazy and it's still March!
March is a great month for us as we celebrate three family birthdays. March 13th we celebrated our Wittle Wove, Halle, and her first birthday. This past weekend, we celebrated Scott's 50th birthday and next week, we celebrate our youngest son Jack's 21st birthday!!! AAAAHHHHH!!!!! It's been many "bigs" this month!
First of all, I can't believe I have known Scott since I was 15 years old and he was 14 years old. O.M.G. We have known one another for 36 years. Literally wanting to lay on the floor after typing this. I feel so old.
We met in 9th grade and he sat in front of me during our Civics' class. Gotta love alphabetical order seating. Had it not been for that, who knows if we'd met.
That next summer, we talked every day on the phone. I stretched the curly cord on the phone from the kitchen, down the hallway, and under my door until we got a cordless phone! We spent the next three years of high school together and he was one of my best friends.
Fast forward. We got married. I just turned 20 and he was still 18. Three kids, three dogs, two businesses, and many adventures later, he is thriving at 50. When asked if he felt any different, he said, "Not yet but it's bound to happen at some point!"
We surprised him over the weekend with some of our close friends flying in from Florida to celebrate. Then this past Monday, we celebrated with cake, a balloon (of course), and fanfare during our staff meeting. His face was priceless as it turned many shades of red like any good introvert. We all know introverts HATE fanfare. He was a good sport and I think he felt serious love from everyone!
Know what else we seriously love? We love when the garden center is officially bursting at the seams. We have so much color and tray after tray of veggies and herbs. I'm trying so hard to refrain from bringing home the Weeping Pussy Willow tree that keeps calling my name every time I walk by it begging to come home with me. It's a childhood favorite, honestly. Sigh.
Everyone's buzzing around like bees making spring the best it can be. You really should buzz on over :)

HOMALOMENA SELBY
Looking for an easy-care houseplant that might not be as common? Look no further than the Homalomena Selby. The leathery leaves have glorious variegated foliage that is sure to draw the eye. They love medium indirect light and they droop when they need water. New leaves will peek out with a pink underside. And of course, pink and green were made for each other!
