GRAND OPENING

Early Childhood Development Center

The Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System, in partnership with the YWCA and EBR Early Childhood Community Network, introduced the community to the new YWCA Microcenter at Capitol Elementary School with a “Welcome” song performance by the students, a ribbon cutting, tours, and a reception. The new program aims to enhance

and strengthen the lives of young children aged 6 months to 3 years, setting them on

their journey to life-changing, long-range, positive school experiences. A vital element

of the program is the wrap-around support services for families. This significant

investment in early childhood education was made possible through generous funding

from the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation, ExxonMobil, the Academic Distinction Fund, and individual donors. For information about YWCA Early Head Start

programming, go to ywca-br.org.
