Marina Coast Water District is proud to recognize Tuan Nguyen for 20 years of commendable service to the District. Tuan embodies the spirit of teamwork and is always willing to assist his colleagues with a positive, 'can-do' attitude. His dependability over the past two decades has been a tremendous asset to MCWD.
Starting as a Meter Reader, Tuan quickly advanced to System Operator in the Operations and Maintenance department earning certifications in water distribution, water treatment, and wastewater collection. Following promotion, he now serves as the second-most-senior staff member in the department.
Tuan's long tenure with the District makes him a go-to person when staff has questions or needs assistance. He is one of the District's Underground Service Alert locators who routinely mark our utility lines and uses ground-penetrating radar (GPR) to aid in locating them. He is well-versed in interpreting the GPR and well- rounded in underground repairs to ensure proper work, minimal downtime, and safe implementation. Tuan also holds the following certifications:
💦 Grade 2 Wastewater Collections through California Water Environmental Association (CWEA)
💦 D3 Water Distribution Operator through California State Waterboards
💦 T2 Water Treatment Plant Operator through California State Waterboards
