Chef Vikram Garg
Join Chef Vikram Garg as he brings the flavors of Diwali – the festival of lights – to the islands by cooking his favorite Indian recipes at a special dining event on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022 at TBD… by Vikram Garg, located in the Lotus Honolulu. It will be a night of exquisite flavors benefiting the Hawaii Culinary Education Foundation.



Tickets for the event are $300 inclusive. Tables of 10 for $3,000 Tickets

Garg is currently the Operating Partner for the Hospitality Division for The MacNaughton Group in Hawaii. For local foodies the Oct. 2 dinner will be an opportunity to enjoy fine Indian cuisine paired with wines donated by RNDC Hawaii.
HCEF Programming
Sept. 20, Leeward Community College, G.Lion Executive Chef Eric Oto will teach fish quality/preparation using the method of Ikejima.

Oct. 27, Chef Robynne Maii and HCEF will present an online live demo for the American Culinary Federation Chef Forum in collaboration with HCEF (7 a.m. HST),

James Beard Award Winning Best Chef: Northwest and Pacific 2022; Robynne Maii is the Executive chef and co-owner of Fête restaurant in Honolulu. She will demonstrate the many uses of one of her favorite ingredients, Kampachi.

Chef Jackie Lau Presents Master Class
Sysco Hawaii Chef Jackie Lau taught a Kitchen Technology and Equipment Master Class for culinary professionals.

The class featured hands-on experience with a rational (combi) oven and how to maximize usage of the high-speed turbo oven.

McKinley culinary teachers Anthony Cabrera, Brian Hamagata met with Duke's Waikiki Executive Chef Matt Young to plan this semester's Chef mentoring activities -- a palate development and fish education classes. In addition to mentoring, Duke's is donating ten cases of chickens and planning a special dinner.
