We hope you enjoy your holidays!

Greetings!

We are coming to the end of the year and I’m taking stock and thinking about some of the amazing things we did at Cherry Blossom Healing Arts. For one, two talented acupuncturists—Vallerie and Qianlei—joined our team! They have been wonderful additions to our already-strong clinical team featuring Zach. Robert rejoined us in August and Karina started in September as Front Desk Coordinators. Maria officially became our Office Manager and has been running the show. This is a dream team and I am so thankful to work with this wonderful group!

In May, I became the President of the Acupuncture Society of DC. It’s been wonderful to serve DC acupuncturists and to have a delightful and talented board to work with.

Last but not least, I just completed my Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM) degree from Five Branches University. I’m happy to have achieved one of the highest degrees in my field and to be able to introduce myself as Dr. Elyse Rohrer Budiash. My DTCM program focused largely on integrative medicine and I’m excited to now be able to offer even better collaboration on behalf of patients with my biomedicine counterparts.

Thank you for being part of our Cherry Blossom Healing Arts community! May you all have very happy holidays and a wonderful new year!

Be well,
Founder and Clinic Director

Cherry Blossom Healing Arts - Health Care is Self-care
You Deserve to Feel Better!
Traditional Chinese Medicine
for your Mental Health

Life throws a lot at us. One minute we’re juggling everything, and the next, we just don’t have the energy to keep going at full speed. Most of our patients are under a great deal of stress. In fact, stress is the number one thing we treat at Cherry Blossom Healing Arts. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we treat the whole person—mind and body—because we know that mental health can cause physical symptoms as well as emotional ones.

Chinese Medicine and Mental Health
During the pandemic and especially now during the holidays, a lot of our patients come in with anxiety, depression, and everything in between. Traditional Chinese Medicine is a wonderful adjunct resource to therapy, medication, and other holistic approaches our patients use. Recent studies are showing acupuncture to be an effective treatment for psychological distress—so much so that CareFirst/BlueCross is now covering acupuncture as an adjunct therapy for mental health care.

WHOLE BODY HEALING
Traditional Chinese Medicine views mental health from a perspective that incorporates not just the mind but also the physical body, emotions, interpersonal relationships, the seasons, the different energetics associated with the Yin organs, among other factors. In treating mental health, we treat the whole body and not just symptoms. In doing so, we’re able to sustain long term effects that improve the overall well-being.

“As we look to the new year, hold on to what is good. Let go of what is bad. It really is that simple.”
