Why do people come in different colors? It's not that complicated.

Join us for our annual tribute to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to explore The Skin You Live in with hands-on activities that help us to feel comfortable in our own skin and with the colors of everyone.

Recommended for ages 6-12 years.

No charge for accompanying adults.

CCM is grateful to be one of 50 Maryland non-profits to receive a $10,000 SHINE (Strengthening the Humanities Investment in Nonprofits for Equity) grant from Maryland Humanities. 

Make reservations for coming inside, 10 am to 3:30 pm, 7 days a week.

Explore the wildlife in the park around the museum with a guided stroll on the East Trail through woodlands and past wetlands to take in a scenic view of the creek. The West Trail meanders past the ponds and takes you to the Truck Pit. Our guide will tailor the walk to your children's interests and pace. Presented in Spanish upon request. Please let us know you are coming by registering here.

Cost is $5 per person for just the nature walk, or $8 for museum admission.

If you have a child 2 years of age or older, the University of Maryland, Baltimore County's Child Development Lab wants to know how they think. Volunteer for a 20-minute opportunity to contribute to science by participating in thinking games with the researchers. Various activities involve listening to or reading a story, manipulating objects, looking at pictures and videos, coloring, memory games, and answering questions. The team is at CCM on Mondays from 10 am to 1 pm. Each child receives a small prize for participating.

In the northern states raccoons get through the winter by taking it easy in a cozy den with a good layer of body fat.

Not technically hibernators, they may spend a few weeks in a state of torpor. This means lots of sleep with occasional, brief, daytime activity, when the weather is a bit warmer, to go out to look for food.

Anne Arundel County Food Access Warm Line serves individuals and families throughout the county. Developed in partnership with multiple county agencies in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Food Access Warm Line links callers to case managers who will help to access appropriate food resources.
