There are several storm related updates tonight that I felt were important to convey after the City Council meeting.
These include Elbow Road and Chesapeake Expressway Southbound. I can tell you I was stuck southbound on the Expressway this afternoon. I have asked for notices to be placed on entrance ramps to allow motorists to be aware of the delay prior to getting on the expressway.
Finally, thank you for allowing me to email updates to you more often during the storm. I hope they have been helpful.

Bulk Waste Pickup Changes
for Storm Damage
Several Interim Changes for Storm Debris
The City has suspended all household bulk waste pickups except for flood-damaged items (like wet carpet). You do not need to request a pickup for these items. Our mission is to get rid of all wet material as soon as possible. And as a reminder, you also do not need to request yard waste pickup.
Place your 4' x 4' x 6' piles at the curb and we'll get to it. Multiple piles are fine. Note we cannot collect tree trunks or stumps and branches/sticks cannot exceed 6 feet in length and 6 inches in diameter.
Also, if you have spoiled food to get rid of, please make sure it is well bagged and placed in your garbage can to avoid attracting critters. Thank you for your help and your patience as we work to get Chesapeake cleaned up!
