Chevron Discount with Avis

Northwest/Alaska/Hawaii Area of the Chevron Retirees Association

We have recently been made aware of an issue with retirees not being able to access the discount for Avis rental cars. Apparently, Avis is now requesting a Chevron e-mail address, which retirees do not have.

Our CRA Benefits Chair, Jim Bonwell, is aware of the issue and has provided the following update and workaround (see the highlighted text). Please note the Chevron AWD discount code is A678290.

Yes, Avis changed their verification process a few weeks ago and it’s created a problem for retirees as you can see. Retirees don’t have a Chevron.com domain email address to send the one-time passcode to. I’ve reached out to the Chevron Travel group and Avis letting them know the issues we are facing. I’ve been informed that Avis is in the process of testing a work around for us.

In the meantime, you can still take advantage of the discount by using the Avis mobile app. Just enter the AWD number and one of the optional coupon codes. The mobile app doesn’t prompt for a verification email address.
