Great Press for Ella Jenkins!

Dear Friends and Fans,

We've had some first-rate press recently, in the Sunday Chicago Tribune. Page 3 to be exact! Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Mary Schmich stopped by the set the other day to observe our crew and to visit with Ella. Click here to see what she learned after watching our team in action.

Filmmakers in their natural habitat: plaids.

We've also had a few wonderful performers and good friends of Ella's show their support for our film, including musical masters Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer, and Chicago's own Ralph Covert of Ralph's World and Time Machine Guitar on PBS. If you haven't seen them yet, you won't want to miss their videos in support of the documentary and campaign.

I'd like to thank all of you who have emailed, posted and called others about our film and campaign. Spreading the word about Ella Jenkins: We'll Sing a Song Together is what it takes to get the job done!

If you haven't shared our campaign yet, I'd like to ask you to forward this email, (with a little note if you like,) to friends, teachers, family and music fans old and new. Let them know about Ella Jenkins and all the amazing work she has done. Please encourage them to support us in telling her story while we can, and remind them that Ella's story goes well beyond just making music for kids.

The current contest for all $35+ backers runs until Thursday at midnight. All backers who donate $35 or more are entered to win a signed copy of Ella's classic Smithsonian Folkways CD, Seasons for Singing from 1970! (This is the least expensive way to get an original Ella Jenkins signature.)

For the most up-to-date news on the film and campaign, don't forget to "like" the film on facebook and follow us for regular updates on twitter. You can tweet at us  too @ellajenkinsfilm.
By the way, you can view a teaser clip of Cathy and Marcy's wonderful, folkie-studded tribute concert to Ella, cELLAbration here!

As a reminder, we're in search of donors who would like to contribute to the film at the Executive Producer level. If you, an organization you work with, or someone you know would like information on how to make a tax-deductible contribution to the film as a matching grant, or for an Executive Producer credit, please contact me directly at

Thank you again for your support. We're just a handful of donations away from sharing Ella's video message with her supporters. Let's hit 33% A.S.A.P!
