Jonathan K. Barger
Jonathan Barger is a Partner with the Chicago office of Butler. His primary focus is first-party property claims and related coverage litigation, from large, complex commercial claims to personal lines claims. Jon also has significant experience defending third-party liability claims related to large property losses and international commercial litigation. He has worked on claims in excess of $250 million dollars throughout the United States and internationally.
Jon has substantial trial and litigation experience both regionally and nationally. He routinely handles all aspects of litigation and has tried numerous jury trials, including serving as lead trial counsel.
Nanci Smilie
Nanci is a litigation specialist with Erie Insurance, and has over 23 years of experience as a large loss property and multi-line adjuster, handling large and complex residential and commercial property losses in the Chicago area. She has been at Erie Insurance since 2004, and prior to that was a multi-line adjuster for GAB Robins North America.
Nanci holds both CPCU and AIC designations, and is a member of several industry related organizations. She graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Fine Arts.
