On December 31, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2026 with Ryan Seacrest” will be in Chicago for the first time. As part of this production, Chicago will host several prominent figures and will build out several stages to accommodate the show. Chicago’s public New Year’s Eve Celebration will serve as the backdrop for the show at Wacker Dr and Franklin St. The event is free for all and opens at 5pm. Permitted entrances will be located on Wacker Dr at Wells St and Lake St.
Closures began on Franklin Street, from Lake St to Wacker Dr, at 10am on Monday, December 29, and will end no later than 3pm on Thursday, January 1. Other closures will begin on Wednesday, December 31. All closed streets and sidewalks will be open by 3pm on Thursday, January 1. For a full list of closures, please click here.
Additionally, several nearby bridges will be closed to launch fireworks. These bridges will close at 11:30pm on December 31 and will re-open at 12:15am. The bridges closed for fireworks include:
- Dearborn Street Bridge
- Clark Street Bridge
- LaSalle Street Bridge
- Wabash Street Bridge
- Columbus Drive Bridge
