During this time, more than 20,000 elderly Jews, many of them New York transplants and Holocaust Survivors, called South Beach home. Sweet’s photos illustrate how survivors lived full, joyful lives after the Holocaust. While you’re at the museum, don’t miss out on “I’ll Have What She’s Having”: The Jewish Deli for a look inside how Jewish immigrants adapted traditions to create a uniquely American restaurant.
