Chicora District

August 2025 Roundtable Recap

A note from the District Commissioner

August provided another excellent Roundtable Event for the Chicora District. A great way to kick off another year of Scouting in our area, and it was great to fellowship with some folks we haven't seen all summer.

Fall recruitment is upon us. While our focus at the District and Cub Scout level will center on bringing new Scouts and families into the Scouting Movement, we are just as committed to serving our Scouts BSA, Venturing Crews, and Explorer Post. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if your unit has needs.

Our August Roundtable featured great information about Cub Scout Recruitment, the new Safeguarding Youth Training, and Campout Safety. I've included for you more information about our Roundtable Topics, helpful information, and other important links below.

Our next Roundtable event will be on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 7 pm in the Horry Georgetown Technical College - Conway Campus cafeteria. Please bring a "concession" themed potluck item to share. Water will be provided, and there are vending machines available.

We hope you are as excited to kick off another Scouting year as we are. Scouting is alive, strong, and growing in the Chicora District. The 2025-26 Scouting year is expected to bring more growth and opportunity to our area. We can't wait to see what this year holds for the Chicora District.

Yours in Scouting,

Michelle Malcolm
