Chicora District

October 2024 Roundtable Recap

A note from the District Commissioner

Thank you to all the Leaders who joined us for our October Roundtable! A special thank you to those who donated potluck items for everyone to share. We had great attendance with more than 30 people coming together to fellowship and learn.

This month featured great information about how Packs, AOL Dens, and Troops need to adapt to best serve our AOL youth in the coming months as they prepare to transition into Scouts BSA programs around the District. We also featured a safety moment that shed light on the issue, provided some simple solutions, and provided more in-depth resources on ways to help our Scouts work through anxiety.

Please find more information about our Roundtable Topics, helpful information, and other important links below.

Our next Roundtable event is November 7, 2024, at 7 pm in the PALM Charter School cafeteria. Details will follow about topics in the upcoming weeks. Roundtable is open to all leaders, volunteers, and parents of the Chicora District. We hope you will join us next month and help us continue to grow our District, fellowship together, share best practices, and seek new ways to best serve our youth.

Yours in Scouting,

Michelle Malcolm

FALL RECRUITMENT SHOWS MAJOR SUCCESS

We are proud to announce that our fall recruitment has reached and recruited more families into Scouting than ever before! Thank you to all of our volunteers who sacrificed their time to help set up, and run recruitment days, sign-up nights, and more. Scouting in Chicora is Strong and Growing!

We have also recruited several new volunteers and leaders. It is important that we encourage them to start and complete their training as soon as possible. They can do this on the my.scouting.org website.

Our next steps include making sure all Scouts who expire over the next few months are being renewed. Please reach out to your Unit Commissioner or email our District Commissioner if you need help.
