Chicora District

September 2025 Roundtable Recap

A note from the District Commissioner

September provided another excellent Roundtable Event for the Chicora District. I continue to be amazed by the dedication, collaboration, and willingness to share information and best practices in our District.

We are very much in the middle of Fall recruitment. We have a lot of good things happening in our units all around the District, and we are consistently seeing new leads for all levels of our program coming through every day. Make sure you are regularly checking your my.scouting.org invitation and application pages to see new leads and applications for your unit.

We have four District Recruitment events happening over the next 3 weeks. If you are able to help, please let me know! The more hands and Scouts we can have on site the better!

While our focus at the District and Cub Scout level will center on bringing new Scouts and families into the Scouting Movement, we are just as committed to serving our Scouts BSA, Venturing Crews, and Explorer Posts. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if your unit has needs.

Our September Roundtable featured great information about Cub Scout Recruitment, new activities around our area, ways to welcome new members into a unit, and an indepth discussion about the Life-to-Eagle process. I've included for you more information about our Roundtable Topics, helpful information, and other important links below.

Our next Roundtable event will be on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 7 pm in the Horry Georgetown Technical College - Conway Campus cafeteria. Please bring a "scary good treat" themed potluck item to share.

The Chicora District is off and running on another Scouting year, and we are EXCITED!. Scouting is alive, strong, and growing in the Chicora District. The 2025-26 Scouting year is expected to bring more growth and opportunity to our area. We can't wait to see what this year holds for the Chicora District.

Yours in Scouting,

Michelle Malcolm

Have topics that you would like covered?

Led by Roundtable Commissioner, Lori Ard, our team works very hard to bring important topics and valuable information to leaders of our Packs, Troops, Crews, and Posts, but we would love to gather feedback to ensure we are bringing forward topics that matter most to our Leaders.
