APRIL 2016

Spring is my favorite time of year!  It's that amazing time of  year when nature magically gets our attention by unfolding with brilliant colors, blossoms, fragrances and up and down weather.  We feel the difference as our outdoor landscape quickly transforms into a bright green carpet.   Spring comes with the idea of   renewal, rejuvenation, resurrection and regrowth, and most people see it as a time of change.  Hope and change is the work of CFGC.

Growth is a big part of CFGC and we are so excited to share all the happenings with you.  We are thrilled to share CFGC is celebrating 50 years of life changing work this year and we are so grateful for all the people that has had a hand in our story of hope.

Please take a few minutes to catch up with us.

Sincerely,

Brenda Hayward

A BIG Thanks to Ramey Chevrolet for Your Support!
Ramey Chevrolet was established in 1983 as a Mom & Pop dealership. In 2008, Darrel Ramey became the second generation owner of the company continuing to expand the footprint of a successful family business.   Darrel and his wife Jamie believe strongly in giving back to their community and do so in many ways impacting thousands of lives each year throughout Texoma.  Their continued support  of CFGC provides hurting Texoma children and families  the help they need to heal and recover and move onto brighter futures.

CFGC Turns 50!

This year, CFGC celebrates 50 years of life changing work.    We are extremely grateful to our invaluable donors, board members, staff, referral sources, partners and clients who have helped create our story and build on the legacy of hope.

Our story expands five decades created by caring and dedicated individuals resulting in real change for Texoma families and positively impacting the mental well-being of our community. To this day, CFGC remains a leader in affordable mental health care for Texoma children and families regardless of their financial limitations.   CFGC primarily serves poor and working poor families who might otherwise go without care.  CFGC's multi-disciplinary team of therapists utilizes evidenced-based treatments to work with children and families who have experienced trials and trauma.

THANK YOU TEXOMA!

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announcement of mental health coverage
In conjunction with the President's visit to the National Rx Drug Abuse and Heroin Summit, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) today finalized a rule to strengthen access to mental health and substance use services for people with Medicaid or Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) coverage, aligning with protections already required of private health plans. The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 generally requires that health insurance plans treat mental health and substance use disorder benefits on equal footing as medical and surgical benefits.

"The Affordable Care Act provided one of the largest expansions of mental health and substance use disorder coverage in a generation," HHS Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell said. "Today's rule eliminates a barrier to coverage for the millions of Americans who for too long faced a system that treated behavioral health as an unequal priority. It represents a critical step in our effort to ensure that everyone has access to the care they need.
