Dear Friends:
April is National Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness month. It is our chance at the Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) to raise awareness of child abuse prevention, talk about child maltreatment and advocate for our children’s safety. This awareness month is a time to remind our community about the risks that exist for our children, and the guidance and intervention available to them. CAPC has been the safety net for our community and will continue to do so with your support. CAPC’s program and services reach families and communities across the county in need of education, resources, and support to keep their children and communities safe from child abuse.
This year's theme, A Connected Child is a Protected Child, focuses on one of the protective factors that connect child protection to the strength and resilience that comes from the support of the family’s network and community of support. It takes a village to raise awareness and support child abuse prevention efforts. As a community supporter, please share, refer to, and participate in the activities and events that are available as we continue our collective efforts to connect with children and their caregivers in supportive and meaningful ways.
