Informing Policy Makers
CCAoNH staff members, Meg Atwood and Shannon Quinn, joined Save the Children Action Network-NH advocates to share data and resources about accessing child care in the State of NH. They shared data reports about the cost of child, current data in relation to NH's early childhood workforce, and the current landscape of NH child care programs. The team met with staff from Senator Shaheen's office to share knowledge and personal stories on this Statewide issue.

What's New on the Website?
Coming soon:
  • "Experiencing Substance Misuse" page - this page will have resources for families that have children that are affected by substance misuse.
  • Collaboratives and Groups page - this page will list Child Care Aware of NH Collaborative and other groups hosted across the State.
CCAoNH is redesigning the website. This site is the   Consumer Education Website for the Bureau of Child Development and Head Start Collaboration . With that in mind, the redesign for the new site will make it  508 compliant, which means it will more accessible to people with disabilities.  If there are pieces that you love on our current site or things that you would like to see moving forward, send us an email to .

With the new redesign, CCAoNH wanted a strong NH feel to the site. One way we chose to do this was by hiring a professional photographer,  MCAG Photography , to take pictures at early childhood programs across the State. The new site will have photos from real NH programs, with real NH teachers and children. Check out a few photos that were recently taken.

Vroom Father's Day
This Father’s Day, Turn Playtime into Music Time
#Vroom Tip . What is one of your child’s favorite songs? Sing a line for them and then pause. Can they sing the next few words? Take turns back and forth, and clap to the beat. You're making beautiful music together!

#Brainy Background : Music time becomes learning time. By helping your child pay attention to the words of songs and the beat, you're helping them learn to listen carefully. Remembering the words, tunes, and beats of songs also strengthens their memory.

"The Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) is the primary federal grant program that provides child care assistance for families in need. CCDBG is administered to states in block grants. States use the program to subsidize child care for working families with low incomes. Most of this assistance is administered through vouchers or certificates, which can be used by parents to select the high-quality provider or program that works best for their family." Child Care Aware of America

Check out our National Affiliates Child Care Aware of America's State Snapshots of how the CCDBG funds were used and specifically how it impacted NH.
